media.net displaying adsense ads?

So I put on a media.net slot. What is weird is occasionally there is what appears to be an adsense ad with a link to googleadservices.com

Has anyone else seen this?

I am worried about violating the 3 adsense ad limit.

I had two media.net ads I took off the one that I occasionally saw adsense ads. I am thinking of taking off the other one (although I have not seen adsense ads) just to be on the safe side.

They've always done that, though for some reason my media.net rep denies it. I think he just doesn't understand the system. It won't count against your three; I asked.

That's good it doesn't count against the three. Just to clarify you asked google it doesn't count against the three or you asked media.net?

I asked an AdSense rep. But it was a while ago; if you want to be absolutely sure, send in a support request yourself.

Media.net is a part of the doubleclick network. You should especially be aware if they both show up on mobile.

When I had asked AdSense a few years back, they told me that it DOES count against the 3 ads/page limit. Unless of course you're running them through DFP.

Oh and I bet media.net (or its partners) are using AdSense for backfill or remnant inventory.

Media.net use Ad Exchange for backfill. Doubleclick Ad Exchange includes demand from Adwords text ads (so technically not AdSense, but the same ads). This doesn't count as one of your three units as you are not placing an adSense unit on the page.
