Is this why my CTR is down?

Arrow replaced by telephone receiver!

My CTR and EPC has totally collapsed, today 6 cent/clicks from the UK on a UK site.

Checking my sites I see the big arrow replaced by a similar sized telephone receiver ... who the heck is going to click on that?

So I tried it on someone else's system to avoid being given a false result and all it did was go through to an enlargened version of the ad and nothing else ... that was it, I couldn't get through to their site nor telephone either.

WTF use is this type of ad to anyone, no wonder clicks and earnings are down.

Useless Google, absolutely freakin' USELESS!

The only thing I've noticed in recent years is as your traffic drops [perhaps loss of Google SE traffic] then the quality of ads on our sites tends to deteriorate. This tends to lead to more irrelevant ads, and lower CTR accompanied by lower EPC.

Obviously this is pure speculation on my part, however it is the only plausible answer I have. One other thing I have noticed over time is my month usually starts off with a whimper, motors along and then ends the last week with an upward bang.

I dunno, I gave up caring about it all a long time ago on my well worn principle of only "worrying about matters I can personally control".
