Here we go again ... I'm actually quite surprised I'm still earning more than the minimum!

Just had one of the best days of the past 2 years! So excited, I had to share. Highest impressions, highest CTR, and highest CPC in a long time.

I don't like to get excited or discouraged about a single day, but I also had my best day yesterday in a long time after a bad start to the year.

It's weird how AdSense can be a pretty steady performer and then get volatile over a period of weeks or months, then settle back down to a pattern (at least for my sites).

I too had a pretty blinding Saturday. Definitely the best earning day in several weeks. I can only assume that advertisers change the prices they pay for clicks on a daily basis. I can't think of any other reason why some days you can and good money, and then the next day it's absolutely rubbish.

Seeing a lot more bot activity than usual this month, so expecting a bigger clawback at the end of the month than I usually get. Might not just be me.

Small sample size? Remember, even if the same percentage of users click each day, the number of people who have clicked is going to be fairly small unless you've got enormous amounts of traffic.

It's the size of the monthly payment that matters.

Exactly, I never bother with all the internal figures, just look at the £'s at the end of the month.

CTR and earnings have been terrible the past week or so, investigated a bit and noticed this:

(Ad headlines obscured by the top-right icons)

Not sure how long it's been like this, I've seen it before certainly, but this looks especially bad now if you have 180x150 small rectangle units, or even larger ones with similar proportions.

Have reported it so hopefully they might do something about it.

Monday is non-working day in US (Martin Luther King day).

For me is a disaster this weekend. Saturday has an even lower eCPM/CPC.

Yeah today is looking like a record low. 70% down.

I would have thought that if people were not working then they will be at home using the computer more.

How many people use custom channels? I am weeding out any AdSense units that don't really do much. If you look on the Internet you will find loads of different websites that have those heat maps. They basically show you where Google suggest putting your ads. I don't know about anyone else, but most of that advice totally contradicts what works for me.

Adsense has told me that bot activity gets especially bad in the Spring (and I can attest to that), but maybe it's starting early this year. Fun, fun.

Monday is non-working day in US (Martin Luther King day).

Most people in the private sector don't get the day off, unless they work for banks.

Very high bot activity on one of my websites. This website is almost dead but adsense reporting pageviews in several tens of thousand for Sunday. Analytics not reporting this traffic. No clicks and revenue though.

Normal ad request, normal CTR, the lowest payment in my Adsense history Sunday and Monday continue the trend.

For me both Saturday and Sunday had normal PVs and my new lower January average click volume however my EPC has shown a return to normality, for how long, who knows?

PVs, clicks, EPC and revenue are all increasing each day. Who knows how long it'll last?

Back to last week's garbage again, so far the only clicks today are from India and Greece ... that's it!

The weekend was brilliant for me, today is quite slow to get off the mark, but still plenty of time left, fingers crossed.

Martin Luther King Jr day should result in an exceptional Monday. Pageviews up, CPC at rockbottom and CTR at a reasonable amount.

Yesterday (Sunday, Jan 17) was our best AdSense day in a long time.

Then again, it was also our best traffic day in a long time.

Yesterday I experienced a huge surge in traffic from Twitter, but Adsense earnings didn't seem to reflect that. What's the value of traffic from social networks? Is it better or worse than organic traffic, or does it not matter?

@Red bar

I should have noticed the flag

Does your website target the whole world? Is it.com, or.co.uk?

My niche is fairly strong and I've managed to rank highly for many keywords. However, what I've come to realise is that the UK is very small and even though fish keeping in general is very popular, and that includes my particular niche, there is absolutely no way I would earn much money if I was relying just on the UK and other countries. I've got quite a lot of members from Australia, but even though it's a massive country, not many people live there compared to the UK. It's a good job that I chose a.com domain and that I do well in the US because that is where 99% of my revenue comes from

:-)

Global with .com/net/org/biz/info/ae/asia/com.br/co.uk/de/eu/fr/in/it/ru/tr/za ... I've probably forgotten some!

Under normal AdSense conditions even though US PVs are probably 33%, AdSense earnings from the US is usually 50-55%, the UK is second however, generally, it is way, way less.

And my earnings have still not moved in hours ... Where's the red bar?

Both Sunday and Monday above average thanks to a handful of ridiculously high valued clicks (US).

Well, that's interesting. Based on today's results, I've just answered my own question regarding social networks.
