Why aren't video ads available as a format via AdSense. Does Google just want them for YouTube and select publishers? Seems like Adsense has become even lower on the publisher checklist for advertisers.

Could it be that most users loathe video ads, and many run ad blockers to make sure they do not run?

Personally, any site I hit that RUNS video when I land it backed out of immediately, but that just me.

Yes, they're mega-hungry and mega-annoying and I don't want them on my site. I don't care if their CPM/CPE is higher.

I've never seen video ads on Adsense anyway. I've seen ads for Youtube clips but they needed user initiation to play.

Personally, I agree that video ads are super annoying. But come on, they are quickly becoming (if they haven't already) the standard in mobile ads. It seems odd to me that they are not even a option (that I am aware of). Google appears to be fully focused on YouTube and their rival Facebook when it comes to advertising. I feel like AdSense is almost a completely forgotten about program to Google in terms of the "future". I know it still brings in easy money for them. But it just feels like they know it's fading out and they are more than cool with that because they've found several other ways to monetize. It's like they are breaking out with you and just don't have the backbone to tell you.

Video ads are OK as long as they are not auto play. If I go to a site with auto play video ad I immediately hit the back button.
