We're nearly at the end of the month so I thought I'd post this:

For those others suffering, does yours look similar?

It's holiday time, and traffic traditionally swings around at this time. Is it a normal pattern, with a dip at the same time last year?

If it's not a traditional thing, has you site been impacted by Google Panda?

What's your traffic look like in comparison?

My July always looks like that, mainly because my traffic plummets over the US/Europe summer. Funnily enough as traffic has dropped, the woeful CTR of March-June has steadily increased.

I've never seen an earning's reduction like this before, most of it is undoubtedly my US EPC being hit very, very hard.

Some days I have seen US EPC at the same level as my Indian EPC!

I was impacted for a couple of days by the new Panda but PVs have subsequently recovered, overall this month's PVs are literally within a few pages of last month yet earnings are 22% down which started around Tuesday 14th July.

It's also possible that the ads are paying less, too, as advertisers reduce their spend during holiday periods.

If the pattern continues beyond the European holiday time i'd certainly be looking at it more closely

A few days ago you posted
I've already removed 1,000 ad slots on one site.

That might have something to do with the decline
or have you put those ad placements back up?

That was a 160 x 600 on the RHS that hardly generated anything, I replaced it with one of my own company ads.

It's the US EPC which is the main concern, my click volume the last few days has been within its normal range however, for example today, Vietnam and UAE have higher EPCs than the USA, something seems to be totally out of whack.

Perhaps your US traffic quality isn't up to par and you're being smart-priced.

Panda doesn't impact sires for a couple of days, more like months and months. There's most probably a different reason for that traffic drop.

Whatever happened was at the same time as the new Panda iteration and very noticeable, I was even posting about it before it was officially announced, I saw drops across several sites like nothing before only to be followed by a full recovery plus some sites have faired even better since then.

Correlation does not imply causation.

If it were Panda you would not have seen a recovery in a matter of days, you would have to wait until the next Panda update and, at the rate Google is going, that would be a matter of months. The last Panda update before the current one was back in September 2014, 10 months ago.

It doesn't matter now what's happened, AdSense is being removed.

We run adsense for many websites worldwide. Some have seen a decline and some haven't. Best recommendation I can offer is to diversify during the summer months and offer something a little bit different than what you normally do. Look at your content strategically and plan the entire year out. Observe what works better during which months and improve upon it.

Slow summer, in Europe August is a full nin-working month in a lot of industries...

I see a big collapse of payment in weekends and the end of the month this year.

My adsense rwp told me to ger a nap until the end of August...
The budgets are low and automatic bidding tools are hammering the system for min payments...

Btw, the first 2 days of August are a historical minimum in ferms of payment!

For me it is simply, a more than a decade long pattern of observing the northern hemisphere summer.

Folks are on holidays, or out and about. Not rugged up sitting in front of a PC monitor. Mobile doesn't really count with my sites.

I have observed it every year since 1998.

From your posting in the monthly thread I always got the impression that your graph must look like Torres del Paine littered with bodies of climbers who fell, but this graph looks more like your average backyard hills - pretty flat and stable.

Maybe less clicking numbers mean you have been kicked out by bigger advertisers. It's my thought. I've also been suffering from less clicks.

Our clients are seeing a decline in CPCs but CTR hasn't changed much and neither has traffic.

Traffic increased, impressions increased, CPM from over $10 to $2 on a good day.
CTR tanked as well.
I know it has to do with mobile and G taking clicks away. I see it happen a lot.

Meanwhile my Amazon has skyrocketed to record breaking numbers because the increase in traffic is a positive thing.
