Same ad showing on three different ad sizes

You will get less than five stars (circles) if you don't have three regular ads on your pages, although Google says it has no bearing on your ranking. I have one 728x90 one 300x250 and one 160x600 AdSense ad on every page of my website. Many times at least two of these ads, and sometimes three, on the same page are the same ad. How can we justify keeping three regular ads on a page if they are the same ad? Would it not be better to just replace one or two of them with another advertiser? How does everyone else handle this?

I don't think I have more than one ad on a page now, but when I did, I'd have one text only and one image only.

I'd probably still do that if I had two ads on a page.

At least if you have 3, I'd maybe put one at the top, one way at the bottom of the and one in the middle. The idea is to make it as unlike as possible that a visitor would see two or three on the same screen.

All of which depends on how much content is on the page.

I saw three ads for the same thing (different sizes) on my sites several times over the past week, but I'm pretty sure they were interest based / remarketing ads, as they were for an SEO tool and most of my visitors wouldn't know what SEO was if it jumped up and bit em in the face. But just to be sure, I had half a dozen people check the sites at the same time I was seeing the identical ads, and they all saw three different ads on each page. YMMV.

The three that I keep seeing are from a women's clothing company. They would not have been IBAs for me. Ken_b, has having just one ad on a page improved your AdSense earnings? I've been thinking seriously of removing all except for the 728x90 at the top of the page.

I can't say it has helped, but it hasn't hurt earning significantly either. It's almost like the 300x250 in under the main image picked up enough clicks at a higher epc to balance things out. So less total clicks, but similar money.

Azlinda, if you see the same ads in all your block it doesn't meen your vistor see the same. You probably got ads depends on your interest, profile(which G collect and track you down), geography and etc. You visitor could see another ads and they can be more various.

p.s what I did: I replaced cheapest Adsense block on Links ads and it turned out more profitable
