Hi

I had lived in Japan for the past several years and had made one Adsense account back in 2010 with my Japanese address.
I moved to US last year and made a separate Adsense account because now I had a second address in the US and I wanted to separate my income between countries depending on the content, because I live both in Japan and US.

I believe my account was successfully made because my Japanese account uses my Japanese name and my US account uses my US name.

After making the account, I have found out that doing this is against Adsense policy. I don't mind deleting one of these accounts (will be the new US one, as it's only been a few days since I set it up and I have made $0 so far), but what is the smartest and most acceptable way to do this?

Thank you.

If you're still living in the US, I think you'll have to keep the US account. There are payment and tax issues. Better check with AdSense to make sure, but it looks like you can't switch your older account from Japan to US because its outside your contracting entity. If I'm reading this correctly, you could switch the same account to another Asian country, but for anywhere outside Asia, you'll need to use a different account.

Hi netmeg

Thank you for your reply. After learning this multiple account issue I looked into changing my Japanese adsense to a US address but was unable to do so.

I will try contacting Adsense. Do you have any recommendations for how to contact them?

Thank you

Top right hand of the home page after log-in [my version anyway] - to the right of your email address there is a "gear wheel". Click that to send feedback. Hopefully that will get you started.

You can only contact AdSense by email if you are currently earning $25US per week minimum. If you aren't at that level, your best bet is to go to the official AdSense forum and see if you can get the attention of a top contributor, who will pass your issue along to Google.

But I'm pretty sure you'll have to stick with the US account to get paid in the US.

Interesting. I will try doing this.
Will keep both accounts for now and see.

Thank you everyone for your responses.
