How do you stop the pop-ups that won't close

Complaints are getting more frequent

Lately, we have been getting more and more complaints about ads that cover the page and are hard or sometimes impossible to close. Which means that the person cannot read our content. I really want to stop these. We put our content first and ads second, so these are annoying to both the visitor and ourselves.

I have tried asking what the ads were for and the only visitors who got back to me said one was for a "sports bra" and another for a "diet product". Different items, so I can't even really track down a possible advertiser to block.

Anyone know if they are from a specific advertiser or happen due to a specific setting in AdSense?

Look for "Ads that expand..." in the same place where you opt for types of ads - something that should be opt-in if you ask me.

(Not precise on the wording, sorry, but it says something about ads that expand beyond the page or something like that.)

Here's more precise info:

Have you tried turning off the option that includes expanding ads?

Much obliged. I had thought those were more of the kind that expand when you scroll over it. Not the rouge popups that ask you to "opt-out" or have hidden their close. Very annoying.

Anyhoo, Thanks!
