I've only had Google AdSense on the website for a little over two years, so any content placed eight years prior wasn't really anything to worry about. I do think Google are being a little bit pedantic when it comes to some of their rules and regulations. So what if you've got a slightly rude joke, I think it's absolutely ludicrous that you could get a website close down because of a few naughty words, absolutely crazy.

They're not closing your website down, they're just opting out of showing ads next to that text. Because they have to protect the advertisers ahead of the publishers. Most advertisers aren't going to want their ads displaying there (if they are the type that monitors placements - I for one, am) That's the way it works.

Doesn't matter what you think. It's Google's game. They make the rules, and you either play by them or find another way to monetize.

The way to stay safe is to only put content you've written or had written for you (and proofed) on your site.

Then only place adsense code on threads not older than 2 years. Most older threads won't get many views anyway so hardly any loss in earnings.

I too received a warning about adult content sometime ago (as in days). Removed the content that was provided as an example, more some like it, and got along with my life thinking that was it.

Some days later, new email, this time stating that ads were disabled for my site because I didn't solved the adult content policy violation.

Well... my site isn't 10 years old but it is 8 years old.
And it has some +200k pages indexed. Same type as yours (forum).

It was fun. Revisiting old threads, searching thousands of pictures for anything remotely "adult". Indeed, it was a nice weekend.
A real hassle and an excruciating task but, if you like your income from AdSense, you will find the motivation for it. Believe me.

Well, after all that work, I submitted an appeal. Got the "OK, everything's fine now, thank you, please beware of future policy violations".
After 3 whole days with no revenue, I won't disregard those warnings again...

I'm afraid it's not as easy as putting the Google AdSense on specific forum pages, I'm using special modules so they appear on all topics.

Thankfully they gave me the URL so I could simply remove the complete topic. I haven't received any more warnings today so hopefully that's okay now. No, I'm not going to search through Over 350,000 messages, I don't know about a weekend, probably take me a couple of years :-)

People don't normally post anything that should violate the Google AdSense policy, the majority of it is fin related, with a few off topic stuff. Anything containing swearing or sex/adult images will always be removed. The warning I got still puzzles me Because it didn't contain any strong language or images. The only thing I can think of is the girl in question found the website and complain so that I would remove anything mentioning her name. I know that she has spent a considerable amount of time trying to get all the videos taken off the Internet.

I haven't received any more warnings today so hopefully that's okay now.

Time frame in my case:
Day 1 - email with policy violation warning
Day 6 - new email disabling ads
Day 8 - appeal
Day 8 - ads enabled

If you don't earn that much, relax.
But, if you do, be careful, don't make me say "told you so"...

If you have a half decent HTML text editor, which would have a search disk capability - then you simply search the directory which covers your site/s using the same search term/s.

In my opinion, much faster.

Then again, if you allow third party content onto your server, without any control, and no local copy on your PC - then you are a fool allowing AdSense or anything else to appear on those pages.

Yea, me I'd just use a tool like screaming frog to search for certain text strings, but of course since Google doesn't publish a list of stopwords, you have to guess.

yes publisher have to take care of content if you violated rule again may they will banned your account so dont publish ad on 18+ thread which always against policy if you dont know about then i say take time and read fully.

You can always execute the Google search command:

site:example.com sex

This will search your site for questionable material so you can be proactive about it. Since your site is about fish, you might uncover posts "How To Tell The Sex Of A Fish" so adjust the word your searching for accordingly.
