New to adsense help

Hi
I'm new to adsense and i have a question

My blog gets about 1200 page views per day and i only earn $0.30 per day and $1.00 at the most

Is this normal?
I'm thinking it's really a small amount for the pageviews i get
I've got ads on top of my post and the sides of my blog

Also My RPM is $0.82...is this a lot?

It depends. Earnings are all over the place, and it depends on your niche, user intent (are people coming to your site in a buying frame of mind, or are you just hoping for "drive by" ad clicks?) your traffic quantity, your traffic quality, and a bunch of other things.

There are a lot of posts here in the forum about increasing earnings, you could scroll through and read a few of them - particularly the post that is pinned to the top of the forum.

My adsense used to be like that. Have a look on google search for best ad placements & sizes for starters. That helped a lot for me for Click through rate.

This will help your RPM no end. The rest I'm afraid is as already said, the subject matter and cost of advertising for that subject.
