22:00 GMT (14 hours into the "Adsense Day") and all I have had is 2 clicks. Yeah right.

I see pretty sensitive reporting: stats change every ten minutes or so. And [knocking on wood] the RPM looks good (good as in not awful, and still at 60% of that of Dec and Nov).

Okie dokie G...YOU have a serious problem and honestly I have no idea what it is BUT a CRASH like this is unprecedented.

It's not just me, I have loads of people saying they've gone from reasonable earnings to almost nothing...just like me...they've changed nothing yet everything has been taken away!

This is so fubard it's unreal.

they just remove all clicks from US on 2 of my best sites, no wonder why the click is just 2c, and it used to be ~6c

Show me someone who has changed nothing during this tumultuous time of change and who is now complaining about a loss in earnings and I'll show you a lost cause. Show me someone who is loosing their livelihood and doing nothing about it and I'll show you someone who doesn't care. Failing to respond to change and expecting the same results as before is a form of delusion. So if a person has changed nothing but everything around them is changing, that's just ignoring a problem or ignoring an opportunity. I tend to not believe that someone could be that stupid or that lazy, but you know what, I'm sure they exist. I take the above quote literally which means they did nothing to cause the downturn and nothing to arrest the fall. If the person making such a claim doesn't mean that, they they should say so e.g. "I did nothing to cause this and everything I've tried has failled to help the situation." That I can believe. But if some really did just sit there and watch their earnings go in the tank without doing anything except complain about it, then that is a complete absurdity.

I'm not sure your idea of "changed nothing" is the same as their idea of "changed nothing". If they have added no content and no one else has contributed then perhaps you're correct. But, contrary to what has become the conventional wisdom here, you do not have to constantly fiddle with your site if it's working well enough and you are getting new visitors as well as return visitors.

Quite happy with the results today. Normal and somewhat startling.

Evergreen facts...I cannot change evergreen facts, sure I could re-order their presentation and modify the raw product's description but at the end of the day all my other information remains the same and if one has a proven winning formula then there is no neccessity to change it.

We're trying to understand just why it is that for some of us we have seemingly witnessed such a catastrophic consumer demand NOT to click any more whereas some are clearly experiencing the opposite.

Yes, I believe accurate communication is condusive to productive discussion. Also fidgeting with something that's working isn't the same as troubleshooting something that appears broken. I can understand giving the new text ads a little time to prove themselves before jumping in and trying to improve their effectiveness. But doing nothing while your business is tanking does't make any sense at all so why waste everyone's time telling us you (the proverbial you) are doing nothing when we all can tell that you're watching your stats and complaining about them daily which IS doing something albeit not the most productive something I can think of to do in such a situation.

Well yesterday ended as dead as it started. CTR never moved and ended the same way. Today is looking no better thus far. One good day out of 5, and the 4 bad days are so bad that the 1 good day doesn't come close to making up for it.

Pointless, utterly pointless excercise in futility here at times! Mention something for a couple of days and one is accused of doing nothing when the accuser is completely unaware of what the accused does.

@RedBar You just made my point for me. Thanks. Complaining about how doing nothing isn't helping. Where's the grand wisdom in that? Is there even a point to it? They say ignorance is bliss. Nirvana? Not here! I'm just trying to carve out an living like most others here. Difference is, I'm not into hand wringing. I believe in the processes of collaboration, infomation sharing, brainstorming, etc. Don't want to brainstorm? Don'see the point? Fine! Just don't expect everyone else here to share your point of view that crying in your beer day in and day out does have a point.

Im not doing as well as I use too.... Started making more of an effort and earnings are still 33 percent less but getting there... The only thing that drives me crazy is the invalid clicks... I remember the days when you could know your earnings every hour, now i could see a nice figure like 180 but in reality we all know its 20-40...

Ok... yesterday Google took back 15 clicks! I finished the day with 6 having had as many as 13 at one time. Earnings were disappointing after having been tantalized all day long by what looked like "recoveries" but ended up zip.

The only redeeming factor is that none of my mobile clicks were scraped back although the last click (in the last 19 minutes of the day) was such a low CPC that it reduce all the rest. I ended up with 5 clicks on my mobile style!

I am SO glad I configured up a special style with one ad for mobile users! There are not as many impressions but when they click, they stick. And the RPM is 10x any other channel.

@wa desert rat -- Now that is a concrete observation that's not based on some great secret. Of course the trick is figuring out how to leverage it to maximum advantage but it's a clue to a possible solution. Maybe it's time to concentrate more on mobile? Something like that could be the difference between going under and squeaking through a tough time in the industry. Now when I hear you talking about scraping, my mind turns automatically to the desktop environment and perhaps tablets. You are helping to narrow the scope of the problem. Cool! Others may have a different experience but unless they share that experience as directly relates to your observation, your observation provides as good a starting point as any for even further insights to follow. Statements like "all my clicks were scraped" now need some qualification in my mind. My response would now be, do you have a mobile version of your site? If so are you seeing the same amount of scraping for mobile ads as desktop ads? I could expand this narrowing process to things like text ads, vs, display ads, vs link units because I really wonder if this problem extends to link units. I know people who say link units are worthless but I contend that they are a valuable part of my strategy so it's a meaningful distinction to me and perhaps others as well. The list of things that can be duduced from this current environment are probably endless. Takes some actual investigation though to get there.

Re. scraping. Maybe shaving is a better word.

I've been hunting and pecking on mobile device the past couple of days and it's driving me nuts. Sorry for the big blocks.

Will try to improve on that.

This morning my "today so far" was $18. I went out and walked my dog for about three hours and every 20 or 30 minutes checked earnings on my phone. They slowly crept up to about $30. Came back home an hour ago and it was back to $18 and haven't budged even 1 cent yet.

Every day I earn almost exactly the same amount. Two days ago I earned $8 more than the average. Then yesterday I earned exactly $8 below the average. The $8 was deducted just after midnight.

The strange thing is that I have two websites. The sum of the earnings on both of them together is almost always about the same amount each day. But most days, one or the other earns about twice what the other one earns.

CTR of 106.90% on one ad unit. Nice...

But, it can't detect an obvious bug/fraud that causes one of the ads have a CTR of 130%+. My today's earnings are more than Angola's GDP, yet the system does not care to take a cent out of that back.

So far today every single click except the mobile ads has been pulled back. "Earnings" rolled back and forth along with the "clicks". Again the mobile clicks stayed constant; once they're laid down nothing changes except statistics linked to page views. Screw it... I'm going to bed.

it started yesterday, in the middle of the day, and since then the reporting seems not to work at all for my account (both in Analytics and in Adsense). No visists. no clicks, nothing!
I have checked my SERP and there is no drop, just the opposite - a slight improvement...

I get those too. No idea, but maybe there's different types of invalid clickery that require different types of validation and invalidation that take different amounts of time. All I got.

Over the course of yesterday (the 5th) I counted 15 clicks taken back. This was only from about noon onwards as I was out of my office on a project all morning. Finished the day with 4 clicks; all on the single banner ad at the top of the mobile "style". Those were never touched all day. Just like every other day before.

Very weak day yesterday. Today is crawling so likely another weak day.

Another note, one of my sites is seeing substantial click clawbacks. I suppose I should be concerned, but I'm not sure. If I see good money there, I can almost guarantee that in a few hours, those clicks will be erased. Troubling for sure.

It seems that high value ads almost always get called back. But that doesn't mean low-value ads don't. I just had 3 clicks with a CPC of .04 get shaved off.

Pretty rough CPC today across all channels. CPC seems to go up and down day by day.
