Google adsense ad seems almost hacked? whats going on?

I have a real problem with a 'download the app' advert showing on my website when people browse from an IOS device.

It is taking over the space where one of my adsense ads normally shows, and there is this big ugly 'get the app' message.. which if you click it, I think takes you to the app store to download some app called Bloom FM. What on earth is going on? I attach a screenshot of this... wierd ad. I don't know what to do.. and it only shows on iphones/pad not desktop? Analysing the source code, it looks like it's coming from google.. it has killed my CTR over the last few weeks. I've mailed google.. but is this really a genuine ad?

Thanks in advance for any help.. driving me potty.

Sorry fewleh, we don't have any way to upload images nor do we allow links to them because people removed external screen shots and we end up with a bunch of broken links.

Don't know what to tell you other than I'd work on the mobile problem of why things are overlapping and fix that as that sounds like it's the only thing in your control at this point which may resolve the issue.

You can't upload images here.

What you need to do is:

Go into your AdSense account

Select Allow and block Ads

Click on the Ads (Ad review Center)

Over on the upper right side, click on Filters

In the blue space, go to the similar to image line, and browse for that ad image.

Upload it and apply the filter.

It should then show you all the instances of that ad, and you can block them. BEFORE you leave the page, click the link on one of the blocked ads to find related ads, to make sure if there's one with slightly different wording or graphics, to block those too.

For extra measures, you can also block the URL of the ad - if you can find it.

Note - I've only done this for desktop ads, so I'm not 100% positive it works for mobile. Worth a shot though.

If it doesn't, if you earn enough to be eligible for AdSense support, mail your screen shot into them and ask if they will block it for you.

Hi, thanks for the response - I'll have a go at your guide now, and I did also mail support. I'm new to adsense, but my site was performing very well for the first 2 months, and it's now having some issues. Still trying to work out if it's due to Google's new filters, or me makes changes to the site that have caused issues. But I don't think this ad is any good for people, so can't hurt to block it.

Sweet. I found and blocked them. Cant believe google would let such a poor quality ad on the network though. Blatant spam / fraud click bait.

You can see the ad here: vitaloximeters dot com/getapp.png .. the text links on the left are a separate ad unit. The offending ad unit is just a big 'get app' button with no clue as to what app that might be..?
