Not necessarily. If you follow the TOS, you should be fine. Many of the complaints about low earnings have to do with Google search, not with Google Adsense.

I beg to differ. I have suffered massive loss in search traffic over the years. Yet, according to the current traffic + CPC + CTR, the results are poor.

Earnings are low. Stats get stuck.

And I find it odd that my Analytics stats seem to reflect a similar trend from many months ago, but the Adsense numbers state I have less traffic thus the lower earnings.

I was referring to search which does affect Adsense earnings. No visitors no earnings.

I just had to look at my December stats. My CTR is half of what it was in December, plus I've lost 30% of my traffic because Google now thinks crappy Yahoo questions are better than my well researched articles.

Depressing :( I don't know what I've done to upset Google. Have a phone meeting with a rep from there tomorrow. I'd love to tell her what I think of their "improvements to search"

Yesterday earnings were the highest all month, go figure. No idea what's going on anymore with these yo yo reports, but glad to see earnings going in the right direction for a change!

Yesterday ended the highest all month here too, which doesn't mean much. Still below the "once normal earnings" of 2013. Just a bad month, and today is dead so far.

Traffic not too bad, CPC not too bad, CTR in the toilet bowl.

Earnings yesterday down 20% from the day before, but still better than most of April. Here's to hoping that it doesn't get any worse, otherwise it will be my worst AdSense month ever.

I'm having a horrible year so far it seems my CTR has dropped over the last two years which I think coincides with interest based ads.

I mean I've seen adverts for things that I have bought after researching via Google however adverts like that follow me around when I'm really not looking to buy any more.

Example: I research and buy a keyboard around a week after buying my keyboard I still see adverts for them even when I'm searching for say a new monitor, I should really be seeing adverts for monitors.

I think there needs to be more of a balance between what the searcher is searching for and what they have been interested in the past.

I spoke to Adsense yesterday. She couldn't really tell me much that I didn't already know. She did say CTR is down a "little" this year. But my experience is that it has dropped by 1% this year. That's a significant drop.

Yesterday I was seeing quit smoking ads on my pet site. I haven't smoked in years, nor have I visited or searched for info on quitting smoking.

This month, I keep seeing huge drops in the current days earnings: i.e. it will say "XX.XX today so far" and then five minutes later it will be 25% lower. I have never seen this behaviour before. Obviously Google's help has an explanation for this, however I wonder if there is a data corruption problem and if Google is actually losing this data?

No, I think we're all seeing more of that, glitterball. I am noticing more 'real time' adjustments, and a lot fewer adjustments at the end of the month.

I wouldn't trust any stats program outside of Google to accurately predict AdSense clicks. Even StatCounter doesn't really work, because I've seen it log clicks on sites when *I* was the only one on the site and I definitely wasn't clicking ads (and they didn't show up in AdSense either)

When I say no correlation, I mean between the page views in adsense (with 100% coverage) and the page views in my own stats. I don't try to record clicks myself.

Maybe everyone has decided to start blocking ads?

My end-of-month adjustments were always very small, but my intra-day 'corrections' seem enormous by comparison this month.

Yeah, I think the "real time" nature of the adjustments is getting more frequent. I tend to see adjustments made in real time, at the end of the day, and at the end of the month. The end of day and, end of month amounts have gone down, but the more frequent real time adjustments may be the reason for that.

Less of a shock at in the morning and at the end of the month, but makes it a lot harder to know how much the total adjustments are though.

Oh yeah, a 4th type of adjustment seems to be the invalid clicks. But for me that's usaully nothing or a few pennies at most for the month.

I'm not sure why the "finalized earnings" don't include the "invalid clicks" adjustments, but they don't seem to, at least for me. I'll see estimated earnings > finalized earnings and then if any invalid clicks adjustment is made it shows up on the payments page.

(Hopefully I have the right terms in the right place here).

April 2013 has been the weirdest AdSense month to date here too. I've had big spikes in clicks, then big drops, then on April 8th I get the second lowest earnings day ever since 2004 followed by several "normal" days. Reports make no sense at all any more.

1,663 page views later, I get 2 clicks worth peanuts. WTF is going on?

WTF is going on is right, JCKline. For no reason I can tell, I'm having my best earnings day all month and it's not even 3:00pm here. Go figure.

One of my lowest days of 2013 only to see new 2013 WP/Blogger sites coming straight in at the top and knocking me out.

I am being blown out by sites who have absolutely no chance of supplying the widgets since they're exclusively mine ... if they wanted them they would have to come to me ... Google's screwed-up the Net so completely it's no worth bothering with any more.

And before you say "Thanks, I'll have your traffic", do remember I'm in a very specialsied niche, the traffic won't spill anywhere except to scraper crap.

I "Googled" something yesterday & three of the results were the same site. I just can't compete with that kind of favouritism :( That site beats me with every single topic. Usually two results in the top 5.

Yesterday was a mess. I just don't understand what's going on. CPC and CTR were at an all-time low, while impressions were at an all-time high? Today CTR is already doubled yesterdays, yet CPC is almost zero. What are they doing over there?

Yeah, wtf is going on the last two days. I had 0 ctr until 11 AM and never recovered. Which has never happened in four years or even remotely close to happening - without a click dump later in the day. Similar thing is happening this morning. But like incredibill said, why should care or have a "pity party".

Ok, this is a first for me. AdSense added a click for $2.25 to yesterday's total about 15 minutes ago. I don't remember them ever doing that before - I am sure that some clicks are delayed, but I never saw them change the total on PREVIOUS day. I wonder if it will still be there at the end of today.

Amend - opps, nope, ha ha ha by the time I finished typing this, it was gone. ork ork ork. Google you so silly.

Amend #2 Electric Boogaloo - Half an hour later, Google put back the clicks for yesterday, but took even MORE out of the total.

Things are bouncing around all over this morning. The total goes up and then comes back down. CPC is about 25% less than usual.

Mine's also bouncing all over the place. CPC rose half an hour ago, then went right back down. It's now about 40% below normal.

Please don't take away my TABLET earnings today G, almost 45% of clicks and averaging in excess of $2.00+ per click! :-)
