Time for a Google AdSense App?

There's another thread discussing the buggy experiences [webmasterworld.com] accessing AdSense stats via mobile devices. And netmeg mentioned it would be great to have an AdSense App. I agree. What do you think? Is it time Google created an AdSense App for Publishers so we can check our stats on mobile devices?

Something like this could provide immense convenience and help troubleshoot problems when not at home/office.

A possible problem is if the Google identity we normally use on an Android device is different from what we use to access our AdSense account. But that should be easy to solve.

As a Nexus 7 owner, I would welcome an official AdSense app. The Google Analytics app for Android is fantastic.

However, as an iPhone owner, I am not holding my breath (no Analytics app for iPhone yet either)

I agree. It seems odd this hasn't come already.

A possible problem is if the Google identity we normally use on an Android device is different from what we use to access our AdSense account. But that should be easy to solve.

Actually, it's not been easy. Google has wrapped up a number of different emails and sign-ins I originally set up over the years and placed them where it felt was correct. I know it's incorrect, but it's been impossible to change.

It's not perfect and takes some figuring out but Quicklytics (iPhone & IPad) is an extraordinarily useful tool as is the iPad app simply called Analytics. I kind of use them both in tandem - what I don't get from... I can get from the other.

I've been talking with the Quicklytics developer and there should be an update soon that resolves some current issues and will offer additional features. This same developer has a feature rich app (iPhone & iPad) for AdSense account monitoring called QuickAdsense that I also find quite useful.

But again - that requires handing over a Google account credential to a third party. I am not necessarily comfortable doing that with some company I don't know personally.

Been my concern as well, no thanks. The official AdSense mobile page works OK on my iPhone but is still missing too many key things that the desktop has (like click count...hello?) to make me not need both. Unfortunately, the desktop version on the iPhone is damn near unusable thanks to a left sidebar that takes up most of the screen.

I understand completely, however, Google has even mentioned the Quicklytics app as a resource, I've been communicating with the developer directly and through Twitter for a year and he has scads of happy users.

He uses the Google sign-in - I know he could easily have a capture mechanism in place but I feel I can trust his integrity.

I've been using a PHP script that retrieves&logs Adsense data every 15mins. I use a second Google account, assigned with non-admin access.

I use an excellent Android app for that. Free. It's called AdSense dashboard, you find it in the Google Play Store.

I checked the Google Play store and there is no shortage of non-official apps for checking AdSense Apps. Judging from the ratings there are thousands happy and satisfied publishers using those apps.

Would you welcome an official AdSense App? Is there a need? Or are you comfortable with third party apps?

I don't trust any Non-google app with my adsense password, so please Google make an Adsense Official App (iPhone and Android).

I my guess is G won't release it because they somehow find useful the any data available for tracking via browsers and our accounts. They want us to access the data using browsers and not an app. Just my guess.

I can say from my own experience that after trying a couple I liked just two Adsense iPhone apps - QuickAdsense (because of functionality) and AdsensePoint (because of visual aesthetics).

Btw this kind of apps can't steal your login information, they just authorize your account via Google's API, that's why you have to login by using Google's official login page.

I just go to the regular site on my iphone with no problems. Why does anyone need an app if they have a smart phone?

What kinds of viri protection and firewalls do mobile phones have ? Sorry, I do not own one - or want to - so I do not know.

With Google Play having 32 apps with malware in them, why would anyone want an app that may be compromised in some way.
