59% unmatched ad requests?

Over the past 4-5 days, the amount of people not seeing any ads at all has increased dramatically. I show Adsense to US visitors as I only serve UK customers with my site.

Is there something going on in the states just now that I don't know about? Are a bunch of companies not advertising at the moment? (broadband and insurance)

3% average unmatched to 59% unmatched ad requests has to indicate something?!?!

Are you running link units? Those tend to show extra high numbers of unmatched ad requests.

Nope. Just a 300x250 box. Dropped from 3% unmatched over the past several weeks to 59% unmatched from 12th/13th Feb onward.

Do you get a lot of mobile traffic? There have been some big changes in AdWords with regards to mobile in the past couple weeks; I can't right off the bat make a connection to your problem, but ... it's a thing.

On a very high volume traffic site I had been averaging only like 3% unmatched when I was only running Google as an ad network. This morning I added almost all the ad networks and my unmatched % is now close to 10%. I should have listened to everything I already knew about Google and that is whatever a Google employee suggests you do - do the opposite.
