Adsense adds thumbnails in text ads

I didn't opt in for images in text ads, also font style and text headings are not same as I configured.

My revenue is 65% down since past two months, I still get same traffic mostly from search engines.

I would expect the CTR to be higher on those..interesting..not something that I'd block out of hand.. if given the choice..

I'd like to see how those perform on my site. I wonder if we'll be able to spot them in our AdSense stats?

Interesting blend of text and image. As an AdWords user I'd like to see the results of those ads. Could have a significant impact on CTR. BUT, I agree that those who have opted out of image ads should not have them shown.

thumbnails disappeared from site! looks like google is randomly selecting ad units on sites regardless of ads settings.

Any idea whether it was a base64 image or a linked to one? If the latter, would be interesting to know whether the image is hosted on google or elsewhere.

They have been around for a while. IIRC around the same time they were showing Link Units within Ad Units.
