It would be nice if Google would allow EFT payments in US dollars if we have a US dollar bank account outside the US (e.g. here in Canada). All too often, the exchange rate that Google uses to convert to Canadian dollars before sending EFT payments is wrong, and needs to be corrected. The exchange rate they use is not derived in a transparent manner and not independently verifiable.

Google makes the assumption that everyone actually has a bank account which isn't always the case. Some people simply cash their checks and do not deposit them as discussed in this very forum. Probably won't impact a lot of people but there will definitely be some that have serious issues with this change.

In the UK there are heavy restrictions on the ability to cash or transfer cheques. Even so in 2008/9 there were still around 1.5 million adults in unbanked households, the largest group being pensioners. (Info published on-line by HM Treasury)

Many people want to keep it in US currency, and if Google does not support sending $US to $US account outside of US, they don't like it as it works against their business.
People/companies already spend $US directly to create revenue, and they don't need those funds converted at all.
Plus, it is not just AdSense but all else Google, like GAN for example (again, being active in US by spending $US).
Conversion rates are awful when using such payment methods.

BTW, when GAN was Performics, I was able to receive $US payment directly to my $US account outside of US.

It may be more efficient and environmentally-friendly for Google however it will be extremely inconvenient for me but when did Google ever care about anyone but themselves?

HaHa! The timing for this is incredible. For the first time since I joined AdSense in 2003 I got the "check is lost in the mail" situation going on and now I have to wait 2 months before I can get a new one reissued.

This is ridiculous.

We do all of our business in US dollars and EURO. Having to covert from US to Canadian (at a rate that is NOT transparent) and then from Canadian back to US is what we're going to have to do from now on. What's worse is that no bank in Canada converts directly from CDN to EUR so we're looking at THREE currency conversion charges because of this.

All of our accounts are in US dollars. All of our expenses are in US dollars. Is Google really going to force us to change all of this?

Definitely going to work on diversifying from AdSense and maybe even abandon them altogether if this goes through.

Just a heads up. Got a mail from AdSense today saying "we are now rolling out these changes that we told you about".

No idea why it was put on the back burner for so long, but I get the impression it will happen in the next month or two.

I know this will cause big problems for a small % of users - me included!

I don't have "check" as payment option anymore and the payments page has been totally revamped, surprised not to see thread about it on here.

Well for me, when it was offered a long time ago, I jumped at the opportunity as it saved a trip to the bank as well as saving $A 15.00 in fees.

If only Amazon could now join the 21st century. No, they don't offer EFT outside USA for Australians.

My AdSense earnings get paid straight into my bank account on approximately the 24th of each month
