Can we put our own Adsense Ads in Embedded YouTube videos on our site?

Even if we don't own or didn't upload and make the video?

I often embed YouTube videos on my sites, that belong to other people. (eg. I didn't upload or make the vids - I'm just embedding and displaying them on my site.)

Are we allowed to put our own Adsense Ad's on these videos we embed?

I don't mean by manipulating the code or anything of that sort, I'm just talking about those Ad's you see show up on the bottom of the vids sometimes - they look like normal Adsense contextual ads, but are actually displayed within the video. (Not those 30 second video ads that play before the vids.)

Is this a program I'm not aware of? Do we have to be the content owner/video maker to display those ads?

I was watching a YouTube video embedded on another website, saw the Adsense Ad popup in the vid, and started wondering: Is it the Webmasters' Adsense code, or the Uploader of the videos'? Who's getting paid for those ads?

Is this something that's allowed for website publishers, and I just wasn't aware of this or how to do it?

Can someone point me in the right direction if this OK, and where to sign up?

Seems like something that might be allowed and maybe the webmaster and video owner do a revenue split.

I'm pretty sure your not allowed to rip off peoples videos and install your own ads, but there are some plugins that allow you to embed ad codes in videos.

Ya, I thought that probably was the case.

This actually seems kinda fair to me though, if they did this:

Video Owner: 33%
Webmaster Who Embedded Vid: 33%
Google: 33%

That way the video owner would be happy you embedded their video. You're giving exposure to there vid, and helping them make money.

Webmasters happy cause cause he's making money too, and giving good content to his site's visitors.

I'm sure some video creators would be happy that you're embedding their video, cause your helping them make more money.

Win-win for all.

Can anyone else confirm if Jay is correct?

That you cant put your own adsense within the videos you embed in your site?

You can't..plus..the original uploader is hardly going to agree with you about what is "fair"..someone else does all the work ..you take a third of ad revenue that uses their work without their permission!..make your own videos..

If I made videos, I'd rather have more hits to my videos and 33% of the revenue, than no money at all.

Webmasters would be helping them make more money and giving more exposure to their videos. And that's only if they wanted to....

When uploading video's to YouTube, there is an option to make your video's not embeddable on websites, so they could easily opt out if they wanted to.

Well, it was just an idea anyway. :D
