My Adsense code - why I see ads with ca-pub-#*$! and some just pub-#*$!?

There may be a simple explanation and this may be much ado about nothing. I'm not an expert!

I was looking at some of my page code and saw my adsense "google_ad_client = "pub-#*$!#*$!...";

I was looking at that same ad in my adsense account and noticed that the code shows as "google_ad_client = "ca-pub-#*$!xx.....";

I get the "ca" but I don't get having two different versions. It seems minor but the way my account is tanking right now I'm a bit paranoid. I'm a bit of a scared chicken right now but I don't like seeing two different versions of a code.

Does this affect anything or is this much ado about nothing?

Thanks. Here is a quote from Google help:

"Does the code on your page match the code in your account?

Make sure to copy the code exactly as it appears in your account, and paste it within the BODY tags of your HTML code."

The fact is that in my account at the top of the page it displays:

"Publisher ID: pub-"

when I create code I have:

"Publisher ID: ca-pub-"

The two don't match. I take things literal sometimes when it comes to policies and instructions. The two don't match. I have code on my sites with both versions.

I'm grasping at straws. I'm having some real oddities right now with Adsense. In a sense it feels like I've lost control over what's happening. Anyways glad to hear that this instance is not something to panic over.

If you need stability, AdSense may not be the way to go.
