Get to a shell prompt or somewhere you can run a WHOIS query, and run it with a -a variable -

It might not tell you anything useful, but then again, it might.

I don't run Adsense but I would guess that some scraped your page with your adsense code on it
Maybe if you go through your log files you may find these ips (not sure though)

But if someone is showing my ads a couple of times a day why worry? Above that level I check it out.

It all depends upon your niche. I have authorised heaps of Googles world wide because they're translation sites.

I don't want to authorize any of these unless I know for sure who they are because you can get your account disabled for their actions.

If the other sites or places are running your ad code..what would you do if they were running pron?

Good blackhat way to kill your account ..and thus your site..and one way to eliminate competitors ..just put their code on sites that are against TOS ..and count on them not bothering to notice..or on them thinking any revenue is good ..and authorising any IP addy that appears to be bringing in money..

One of those IPs is linked to wahoha..and they run many categories of video ..many of which are against google adsense TOS..your code may not be on their home page..but it may be scraped and being used somewhere in their network..why? ..because scrapers are by definition lazy..and thus don't always clean up the code from what they scrape

Adsense can't be expected to hold your hand..why on earth would you want your code on pages where you have no control over them..

Frost_Angel, a server farm is indeed a hosting service, but 'hosting service' is applied to clean hosts where 'server farm' is applied to hosts that don't care what their users do as long as the bill gets paid and where the users usually run bad bots and scrapers and all the stuff that a hosting service would not allow ;o)

Just pure curiosity makes me want to know why on earth my adsense code is there. Pure SEO reasons.... has my content been scraped? Has my site been scraped?

It's not a question of SHOULD I authorize IPs I don't know - it's how do I find out WHO these IPs are and why my adsense code is there.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I would think any web owner would want to know this.

I don't need hand holding from adsense - but it would be nice for there to be some communication in situations where you could have your account closed. There could be more IPs out there that I am unaware of that are running my adsense code - and my account could get banned. Banned because I just didn't know. But there would be no discussion, no anything. My account would be closed and that's that.

I would suggest that you start keeping a sharp eye on your raw log files. You'll quickly see who are human visitors and who is trash.

Another thing you can do, Frost_Angel, is to put your pub-id into Google. Sometimes that will show sites that have taken your code and content.

To me, it's just time wasting BS, as opposed to real content sites subsequently crafted with Adsense in mind.

When I set up analytics, I set a separate profile with a filter that shows only page views where the hostname is not my site. This profile shows Google Cache views, Google Translate views and sites where the content has been copied and they left the analytics code in place.

You'll likely see a bunch of views via Translate where someone translated multiple pages of your site. A few days later you might see that your content has been posted in some foreign language on other sites. That's why you can't find your content elsewhere via a normal search at present. It's likely to have been translated by the spammers before being used.

Looking at the analytics gives you a clue as to which language you're looking for. It is detailed in the URL of the Google Translate page they looked at. I see languagepair=en-ru in a heck of a lot of those cases.

Also put your adsense publisher code into blekko ..you may be surprised..

Seriously, read as many tutorials and manuals as you can. More importantly, have a go yourself. You'll soon spot that most tutorials have a few errors. When you're correcting their code, you've arrived.

Does anyone know if kproxy.com should be authorized? I'm kind of confused on this one because I guess it's a site that lets you get to sites you've been blocked from? Or that your ISP won't let you get to?

So adsense is asking if I should authorize kproxy.com - and although kproxy is not MY site - apparently people are using it to GET to my site.

Or am I way off?

It's not necessarily sites you've been blocked from, but also if you just don't want anyone to be able to trace you from their log files.

I can't imagine you're going to get a ton of legitimate visits from proxy servers such that it's going to make a dent in your income if you don't authorize them. I wouldn't. (Most of the proxy servers I've seen don't display ads anyway)

I was leaning toward not authorizing. Anything my guy feels "unsure" about - I say no. But thought I would ask in case I was totally missing what kproxy is.
