Two things I want to see in AdSense

Google, as an honest publisher, allow me these two options!

1. I want the ability to block ads from showing to certain countries of my choice without a limit.

2. I want the ability to turn off interest based ads.

I will be a much happier publisher if I could have this control over the ads that show on my sites.

I'd like to be able to "opt in" to the countries rather than "opt out" - give me a list, and I'll pick which ones I want, rather than the ones I don't.

@Play_Bach, great point. It's faster to check the few. than the many.

If I have a website about cars, I'd like to see adverts about cars. I know it's a novel idea, but it may work. </sarcasm>

It's too bad the folks who set up the IP addresses way back when didn't think to be able lock it down by country. If webmasters could simply select a country code to block or allow, rather than deal with managing an impossible htaccess file, (I gave up on that years ago), life in IP land would be so much easier and simple things like which countries to show ads would be a snap.

@Lame_Wolf, don't fill this thread with your bizarre and unrealistic ideas. cars+adsense=apparel, everybody knows this. ;)

I can go along with these. I hate the local ads.

I don't understand WHY Google thinks IBAs work? I rarely get an IBA click. They just take up ad space and annoy visitors as they STALK them across the web. If Google must have them, there should be a cap on the shows. For example, visitor looks at site A for widgets, moves to site B and widget ads show, noves to site C, new ads.

We're just the opposite, we make the highest earnings from local ads, and prefer local over generics.

Me too, I love the local ads.

@JCKline They do work on some sites (where there might be little content to target). But the creep-out factor probably affects the CTR. However the CTR on contextual has always been better but the twiddlers in Adsense managed to wreck that over the years.

I'd really like to see IBAs being optional.
