I just saw this, it is the most annoying thing ever!. They could have at least sent an email, or shown the stuff on the side of the page.

Thinking about it a bit more it could be a move to try and up the quality of the publisher's network by getting people to use authorship markup, etc rather a specific attempt get more people using Google+ (which could also be a secondary goal of course).

Panda, ATF update, etc all pushing this way to a certain extent and with Facebook making solid moves into the online ad market and about to go public, Google could be worried that the glory days of their Adwords monopoly could be coming to an end.

Looking at the positioning and overall message apprearance - it's apalling. When I see it in IE the "I've done this" is misaligned as is the tick box that goes with it. It almost looks like someone at Google had the "brilliant" idea to put that message there and told a programmer to implement it within ten minutes. Truly unprofessional.

I truly think that someone is desperately panicking at Google and has come back from a meeting with this idea as the only way of saving their career. I don't see G+ working anywhere, no "normal" internet user knows what it's all about. If G+ fails it's going to have serious reprecussions for some of the top managers at Google.

Ditto - 2 inch band added across my dashboard that I can't dismiss. Is +1 in that bad a shape that they have to force it like this? I guess we'll find out next earnings call.

I haven't seen it yet. But I already have made a buttload of Google+ pages, and maybe they know it. I don't care if they sit empty or idle. They're there.

Now I dont want facebook, twitter or Google+ , but this google+ thing will that be a Problem in the future, be cause I will NEVER take part of that, so anyone think they will force one in the future, so is it time to find a new banner provider. It would be a big mistake by google to force people, but they have not been the best friend of a webmaster or users the last few years.

Aggressive and annoying tactic for sure. Seems desperate. They should have typed "PLEASE create a fan page...oops...Google+ page. We really want to be better then that awful facebook."

It now really gets on my nerves that I have to see that banner, if I say no I mean no "the end". Every Month google comes with something that I dont like, do they not want any friends anymore.

What's a good feedback for this -- something that doesn't piss off someone who overlooks adsense accounts :)

Anyway, it is interesting to watch Google+ and if it is ever possible to get a product successful by shoving it down people's throat.

They start off by asking you nicely and if you don't do it voluntarily they will force you to create the account or else.

I already have 500 fake Facebook friends. That's enough.

I have real buddies, no need for fake FB or G+ friends..

Kind of creeped me out.

It seems heavy handed and perhaps a prelude to requiring a + page in order to keep an active Adsense account. I hope it is not.

I have noticed that my Pubcenter eCPM continues to drift upwards as my Adsense Page RPM drifts downwards. This creepy banner is making me revisit my testing with Microsoft's product.

Does Google still produce SERPS? Last time I did a search on Google a few weeks back there where so many ads with ad extensions and Google shopping results that only one single organic search result showed on my screen without scrolling.

remove Create a Google+ page, if I write that in adsense help forum there is not much info at all, I bet there are A LOT of people how dont want to be a member at all or just want it removed. Google has got SO aggressive here in the last years time, that it has almost gone from a friend to the enemy.

My "Create a + page" disappeared after I clicked the "Already Did" button, left, and then returned hours later.

I just noticed they changed the appearance of the iconic "g +1 button" -
larger, elongated, single-color, pale, pastel orange on pale pastel grey - far less attractive, IMHO.
The figure and ground are muddied.

This new concept of "forcing success" by decree is pretty wild. I think it is going to create a lot of backlash.

I just read the latest - When you make a phone call in the future, you won't be hearing the rings. You will be hearing Google ads. I expect we will see a great deal of discussion about this (sorry, AdSense will not be involved).
