Just seen an ad written in japanese

i've just seen the worst ad of all time on my site. it was written in what looks like japanese, or chinese, with that pictogram writing that is impossible for non-japanese people to understand.

and it was a text ad too, not an image ad.

given that my site is all in english, what is going on with that? if google starts serving up foreign language ads i cant see that working too well

saw the same thing myself yesterday. seems to have disappeared now.

Just FYI, it appeared after I had put a new ad code on my site.

When I preview a page locally before uploading I see all sorts of garbage in Adsense including ads in non Latin scripts. Once uploaded everything seems fine with ads relating in some way to the site although not always in a way that attracts clicks.

i've just seen another foreign language one written in romanian, for a door-to-door delivery service in romania.

bear in mind that this is on a UK site, and its not a preview or anything like that.

another one listed in the same block is for a "cardboard tube supplier". that is actually the advertiser's title... "Cardboard Tube Supplier".

Can you imagine what kind of page you'd need to write to have ads for both romanian door-to-door mailmen and factories that make cardboard toilet tubes appear at once? that would be one crazy page.

i guess there must be a severe shortage of advertisers around at the moment, or the targeting is totally messed up.

but im actually having a very good day earnings wise... go figure
