I am quite aware of that. Is the poster ? Because there in nothing in the WebmasterWorld TOS to reflect that.

(If a moderator thinks it's out of line, they'll remove. I don't know myself exactly what does and doesn't go anymore, so if it's not blatantly self promoting, what the hell, post it and if it offends it will be removed and if it's useful it won't)

looks like the old 728X90 that people would put images over before google changed them.

CTR for those would rock big time.

You can emulate it with three 200s but you would all 3 ad units on a single page.

sucks how really big publisher can get away with great adzones that call for clicks, while us rank and file can get banned for trying the same things.

there is also 5 ad units on one page!

And Adsense before content + Affiliate offers and Kontera.

The site has an explanation on how it received the premium Ad unit. THEY ARE USING SOMEONE ELSE'S PREMIUM ACCOUNT.

That is the most heavily blended ad unit I have seen on any site other than blatant black hat MFA ones. I am surprised even premium advertisers can get away with this.

What the heck are you guys seeing? Apart from loads of ads there's nothing abnormal...in the UK.

Yes, its those three.

What I can see are three ads in a non-standard unit, with fonts and colours that exactly match the the site and no border, making it look like content apart from the "Ads by Google" notice and the urls underneath.

This would get most publishers banned. I am also sure I would get a MUCH higher CTR if I could do the same.

The ads are also inserted into the page itself, rather than in an iframe, so the ad script is not the standard one either.

If it's three ad units mimicking a leaderboard unit, how come there's no 'Ads by Google' label on each one of them.

Looks to me a special unit. That site is not big enough to give them premium publisher status, but maybe they have some other big site?

Also ad titles are not underlined as they normally are.

And on top of the post there's a normal looking ad unit. That doesn't make sense,

Looks like all the ads have been created by GoogleAdManager using doubleclick for publishers (dfp):

[google.com...]

I've never used it therefore have no idea if this is a standard unit etc.

I've seen plenty of ads just as blended, purring happily along. It doesn't seem like Google cares so much if they're not navigation-adjacent. At least for premium pubs.
