My initial impression is it is faster which is great. Thanks Adsense for this effort.

When I've optimized page load time in the past, I've seen earnings increase!

Last year, we ran tests that showed AdSense adding 12% on average to the time it took to load various pages from top web sites

They must have been some slow sites. My assessment, and using Google Lab's own Pageload test, indicated Adsense was more than 50% of the page load time. This particular site for this test has lots of content, few ads, and images.

However, my first impression of this improvement is still that Amazon product ads still load substantially faster than Adsense ads and Amazon ads load without Javascript! I know this will be a big challenge for Adsense, who's problem is much more complex than Amazon's. Amazon's ads are server rendered versus Adsense which is mostly Javscript rendering.

About time. Adsense is very slow. I also find most stats javscripts very low as well.

Hmmm... I wonder if this will apply to old code as well as new. I have heaps of pages still running the old code (I actually prefer it, but the pages haven't changed, so I haven't changed the code)

Finally! on my website it takes 2.5sec to load out of 3 total!

Was there a statement about precisely when this change turned on?

I've been working with some pages ( constantly reloading them).

I noticed that one 250x300 sometimes didn't fill (just on a few occasions).

I don't know if that effect is related to this.

I also find most stats javscripts very low as well.

They hang my pages up sometimes. And these are lightweight (20 - 30K) pages.

Google has publicly stated that loading time may be a factor in how well you're ranked also. Well, excuse me. Get your scripts to load and my page will load fast too.

Glad to hear positive feedback on the latest upgrade with AdSense to increase load times.

Just a few points of clarification on some of your posts:

1. The changes apply to both old and new code

2. For those concerned about search rankings, site speed is just one of hundreds of signals that we look at to calculate a site rank. This one improvement alone shouldn't have a noticeable impact on a website's rank on Google search.

So no one factor alone noticeably impacts your Google search rankings? Or is site loading speed weighted very lightly in the position calculation?

Seems like there are now fewer Javascript calls - before a single ad unit was making 9 (!) javascript calls.

It looks like they've been combined but not into 1 and the actual call that fetches ads is still slow + is blocked until the javascript is loaded.

Better, far from perfect, but better.

As for rankings my site used to get updated frequently in GWT but now it's a couple weeks between updates, or longer. It's like sites are given a test, and given an overall grade, that sticks with you a little longer.
