How does the high end javascript differ from our current javascript?

I do nothing special for smart phones and have 3 ads per page, does that mean I'm violating the policy for mobile ads?

Very confusing.

It's not terribly clear to me either. The smartphone ads are for iPhone and Droid and BlackBerry and such like, but most of those phones can display regular ads, as far as I know (for some reason my sites render fine on my BB, but the ads don't show at all) I could never get the php ads to work properly, (at least, I ran them but they never showed a single impression) I used the smartphone mobile ads last year when I was serving stripped down pages for mobile, and they say only one ad per page. In theory, maybe they show to more devices? I don't know.

I am not bothering to test adverts on mobiles. I can't stand them, and don't care if they show or not. Lost revenue ? possible... but doubtful.

Wonder if it works on Blackberry.
I can see from my Analytics stats that there hasn't been one Adsense impression from 1,000 Blackberry users.

Adsense ads for high-end devices is old feature, AdSense mobile interface is new.. right?

Today we're launching a new feature for AdSense mobile publishers that will allow you to take advantage of the high-end mobile phone browsing experience. This feature offers publishers the ability to run larger AdSense ads visible on high-end phones. Before this launch, AdSense mobile publishers were only eligible to serve smaller text and image ads on their website content.

We've done this by introducing a new JavaScript snippet that is easy to implement and specifically optimized for mobile to reduce latency on high-end mobile phones. Furthermore, this new snippet will allow publishers to select additional ad unit sizes from common AdSense formats.

The AdSense mobile interface is new. Ads for mobile sites are not new.

To clarify around mobile sites and policies --

The AdSense code for high end mobile is meant for mobile sites that are optimized for the smart phone experience. As such, you have the ability to not only show the standard 300x50 mobile ad size, you also have access to a variety of desktop like ad sizes, such as 300x250, 200x200 and 250x250.

The AdSense code for all phones comes in a few languages, PHP, JSP, ASP, and CGI/Perl. This code is meant for WAP sites and can only display the standard 300x50 ads.

You may find that both ad codes may monetize differently.

In terms of mobile ad policy, you can have one ad per screen, and up to three ads per page, assuming that the ad is 3 screens long.

IMO, mobile phones should be made to work on existing sites. Not existing sites to be made to work on mobiles.

Can't wait for the solar flares to knock out the satellites. It will be funny to see people trying to exist without their beloved mobiles.
