I am at a loss here. Last month on July 31 we had a monster click dump It is 1500% increase. In prespective lets say we do 100.00 a day well the dump was 1500.00 on that day.

My question is has anybody else anywere on July 31 had this type of dump or for that matter has anybody anytime ever had this type of dump as I am thinking about contacting Google to have this looked at.

Wow...lucky you:-)

Friday 31st was completely normal however Saturday 1st August was higher than normal but not abnormal.

Don't spend it yet!

HuskyPup not my money but if this is so hey looks like the company got an all paid trip for me to Vegas baby.

Nov be here before ya can fart and this extra (if good) money will just about cover the whole trip including the cost of a 4 day complete pass.

This is the first time in however long Google (we signed up when it came out) has been doing adsense that I have seen this type of dump.

Have your July numbers settled out yet? They usually do that within ten days after the end of the month. For example, my "settled" numbers for July were about $20 less than what the reports said on July 31; I assume that was because some clicks were deemed invalid and refunded to the advertisers.

Before talking to Google, I'd do some investigating on my own. Look at your logs. Were there any traffic spikes that might account for the huge numbers of clicks? A new referrer? Someone mentioned you in an article or something? Sometimes traffic bumps can come from odd places; I've mentioned before that I have a tiny little niche 30's movie site that I maintain for a friend, and it only ever gets traffic when someone shows one of the movies on TV or the NY Times uses one of the movie titles as a crossword puzzle clue. Although for me, that type of traffic rarely actually clicks.

Anyway, investigate the sources first. It could be just a windfall of some sort. But if you can figure out what caused it, maybe you can reproduce it - then you can take us ALL to Vegas.

I'm curious, why do you call this a click dump?

Are you sure there wasn't a traffic surge from some source that might have led to the increase in clicks?

If traffic was normal, did you notice any unusual ads that might have attracted a ton of clicks? An especially well targeted and timed ad can do that.

I'd look at all that before contacting G.

netmeg I have investigated it makes no sense really as on July 31 traffic was normal but the income and of clicks were way way outta wack. All I can figure there was some type of monster dump into the account.
I have looked over previous months and it looks like the dump covered all our sites as all the click numbers higher than previous months.

That is kind of weird. I've always figured that some clicks take longer for Google to validate than others, and I've had days where the clicks outpaced the traffic so I was pretty sure they were clicks from previous days that just got approved, but no huge dump like that.

Yea I see this often netmeg but nothing on a scale of this. I mean it was almost a months worth of income and clicks dumped on the 31'st.
