CTR down on Mar 3, 2010?

My AS account and my S*d* account both show a marked low value of CTR for Mar 3. The website/domains in the two accounts are in totally different niches, geographies.

AS is at 87% of the average of the last 32 days.

S*d* is at 60% of the average of the last 32 days and by FAR the lowest figure for that period.

Traffic for both accounts is normal.

Coincidence?

Freedom, if I understand your question correctly, go to your the Adsense Control Panel, click the AdSense Setup tab; then go to the Ad Review Center.

I thought he was talking about specific advertisers under some feature I hadn't realized yet.

Anyway, it looks like another wacky day of bad reporting, slow reporting, no clicks, and massive amoounts of PSAs. Something did happen around the first of March and this train went off the tracks.

Earnings are still down since the Feb 1 smackdown. Overall earnings now at 50% of 7 year moving average. No changes in sites, no changes in traffic, ad placement blahblahblah.

Crazy how in just a couple years we went from a adsense success story with a couple adsense reps to half the earnings and no support.

I am compelled to chime in as March is dismal so far. Each day I make one fifth of what I made on average for the last eight months. Traffic is normal but the click thru rate is in the gutter. :(

Same pathetic story, earning in the toilet. Not able to affect it no matter what set of variables I try to improve, sigh. It's quite depressing to watch really.

Is it just me seeing very low clicks today in the UK?

I heard that a PETA assault team stormed the Googleplex and rescued the AdSense hamster. Google is trying to replace him with a hamster from the Search department but they haven't been able to get him to stay focused - something about him constantly thinking of the 1,638,456 other things he could be doing than running on the AdSense drive wheel.

I'm pretty sure it's true because I read it on the Internet.

I heard some analyst on CNBC say that Google stock was priced out and that cost per click was declining. I'd hate to think that he's right, but Adsense weathered the financial downturn remarkably well. Maybe it's a lagging indicator.

All of my metrics have been about the usual up-and-down, though mornings have been particularly scary of late. Maybe there's a real lag in reporting, because my traffic continues to maintain itself, but a reduction in bid prices for ad spots would seem almost reasonable at this juncture.

I am optimistic as a general rule, but the handling of finances by various world governments is a worrisome scenario which threatens everything.

Sorry, just speaking my mind.

Unfortunately massive shifts like this I don't think us publishers can do anything about. It's obviously something Google is doing on there end... we just have to go for the ride and hopefully we eventually come out the other end better for it?

Yesterday was a historical low for me, unfortunately. Terrible CTR combined with very low CPC. I'm trying to be zen about it, meaning, resist the urge to go into a fetal position in a dark corner and cry like a little girl.

I'm seeing a major click dump at the moment, FWIW.

Today is not looking to bright here either after an o.k few days, nothing to write home about. I have started using another in content system that seems to be paying as much as gorg on good days, so I am liking that.

My stats are returning to normal. Seems like more of the usual for Google. Chalk it up to a combination of the weather, poor economic conditions and the usual algorithmic vagueness.

Still beats working for a living.

Thursday saw my lowest earnings' day since the first week of January with Page Impressions and Clicks therefore CTR way, way down however on a positive note my EPC was ok.

I suppose I'll have to chalk it down to one of those days that Google dare not admit to...lost data day...which also seems to be contuining into today as well...maintenance time or get some new hamsters please!

I am with you HP. And today it has taken 4 hours to show any clicks (and a low amount at that).

Same here jmccormac, I have never seen anything like this. Almost a freefall since Feb 1. For us I think it was the new targeting change they announced shortly after the Feb 1 collapse.

Page impressions look slightly low, CTR looks slightly high, earnings seem about right. This is east coast USA.

Well I have absolutely no idea anymore what's going on. One day I'm ready to dive off a bridge and the next I can't really believe how good the earnings are. Today so far earnings pretty good. Keeping my fingers crossed while building new sites- and back links...
