How much difference high paying keywords can bring ?

Keywords greatly differ in their CPCs when viewed from advertiser's point of view using adwords tool.

How much impact does this have on publisher's earnings ? I know CPC is dependant on many more factors like quality, relevance etc., but given same quality, relevance, will CPC paid out to publishers differ much ?

Devil's advocate here... who determines "same" quality/relevance? If we all could do that biz might be a bit more simple...and predictable. :)

Stay away from the adSense black box and try to focus on good original content. Generally speaking, content that drives sales/conversions for advertisers will pay more per click.

Hi,this is an obvious answer. But my question can be put like this : Do keywords that covert to sales have higher CPCs than those don't convert. Does adwords CPC is determined by the conversion rate of the keywords ?

let me put it this way.

What happens on the SEARCH (property) of G is much diff. from what happens on the sites running adSense.

On websites it is the keywords wrapped around CONTENT, that (drives) conversions, that pay a good EPC. The same keyword will pay 1 cent on a website and USD 1 on other websites..

This is called 'smart pricing' also and helps G 'control' payouts to dodgy sites and helps control speculation and manipulation by publishers.

As I said before 'avoid the black box' and stay focussed. Let the advertisers who get good conversions on your site drive up the keyword prices on YOUR site.

Best..

Based on what I've read about smart pricing, if your site tends to lead to conversions you may get higher payouts and I'm sure certain keywords start at a higher payout than others but it's how your site performs in the middle that makes all the difference.

But I seriously doubt how big G can determine if a click is converted or not.

Sure they can determine through adwords. Never used conversion tracking cookie?

Oh ok. I have not used adwords. I think then I should use adwords to see things from advertiser's angle. This could help me to get better knowledge about adsense payouts.

I heard a rumor that if I write 2 articles on blue widgets I will get the same amount of money as if I write 3 articles on red widgets, can it be true?

I hope its true because I only have time to write 2 articles after spending this morning researching easy techniques to do better than everyone else!

dis net is so hardz, so hardz!

edit: if you can spot the wisdom in that, you win.

Yes. As an Adwords advertiser, I can tell you that the market knows which terms convert into sales. The cost of these terms is much higher. But that's not the whole story:

Term 1 - "Buy X"
CPC = $1.00, volume = 1,000 / day, CTR = 0.3%, earnings = $3

Term 1 - "Find X"
CPC = $0.10, volume = 30,000 / day CTR = 0.5%, earnings = $15

You *cannot* begin to understand how AdSense works without delving into how AdWords works. Even if you don't use it, you should at least research it.
