How to sustain this increase in income

world event caused an increase in earnings for a particular location

Hi Friends,
Due to a certain event 2 months back, the traffic has increased for a tourism based photo gallery. the eCPM has also increased (CTR is around same) and earnings have increased 20% everyday.

1. Are there any tips where i can sustain this same eCPM for long time.
2. And is there a way to increase my site wide eCPM so my other pages benefit in earnings too ?

We've seen several reports here of eCPM going up the last few months, so some of your increase may not be directly related to whatever the event was that you mentioned.

That said, maintaining a high eCPM is pretty much out of your direct control, if you want to also maintain a high quality user experience.

It's just too dependent on what the advertisers are willing to pay.

So that leaves us with developing sites/pages with high enough quality content that advertisers will be willing to pay a premium to have their ads on. Then we have to get traffic to those pages. Which brings us to...

2. And is there a way to increase my site wide eCPM so my other pages benefit in earnings too ?

One thing I've done is to place links to other sections of my site outside the normal navigation bar.

Not a lot of those links, but a couple on each page can make a big difference. And sometimes they will send traffic to pages with an even higher eCPM. That can really make a considerable difference in income.

I'm not in travel, but I assume there are various related pages on a travel site that might work like that.
