I'm planning to change my adsense account from individual to my business name. My current earning which is steady and the account is more than three years old. I use adsense ads only on one site and i'm currently making my living from that site with adsense.

If i change my adsense account, concerned whether the CPC rate will get affected.

Is there anything like trustrank linked to the adsense publisher account.

Please give me your suggestion?

I did that in 2009. Didn't notice any discernible change I could attribute to that reason. (My earnings were down, but it was mostly CTR that tanked, and that tanked for pretty near everyone)

My EPC is still pretty high.

@netmeg
Thanks for your reply.
Also did you copy all the channels from your old account. What happened to the placement targeted ads in your old account. Is it automatically moved to the new account?

I copied most of the channels. Had to make new ads, which was a major pain, because I have hundreds. Placement targeting (I think) goes with the url and the channel.

I changed to corporate in 2008 and everything remained the same except for the name of the account holder.

One more thing, if you get eft payments, make sure you change your bank account to the business bank account and update your tax info. I'd wait to after you get paid this time to change your account over.

What's the process for changing from a personal account to a business account? Do you have to cancel the personal account or just take the ads off the site and set up a new business account, or what?

No need to change accounts. Just change the name on the account to your business name. Code remains the same. I did this in 2005 and didn't notice any difference in earnings.

I don't remember exactly how I did it. I believe I e-mailed support and they replied asking me for the new Business name. Within a couple days it was all setup for me.

I think all you have to do now is go to account settings in your adsense account and edit payee name. I believed they just changed it this year. Last year you had to email them.

I changed accounts in 2005 and then again a few weeks ago since the company when belly up. I saw a consistent continuous decline in income each time. And, today is just about the worst day ever. So I don't think changing account has anything to do with it.

But if you are one of those that think removing channels is a good way to confuse Adsense and make them forget who you are then it surely will help your revenue.

For whatever reasons I don't necessarily understand, I had to completely change accounts.

I had to do this and noticed massive losses. I guess I lost all my advertisers and history. But for whatever reason it wasn't a great switch for me. Anything I change either on my site or within adsense seems to cost me thousands a month.
