Trying to do some things with custom/coop search, and it's been a nightmare going cross browser. Almost never have problems in Firefox, but IE has been a mess.

Anyway, adsense ads show in the results for Firefox. They do not show for IE8, but the do show in IE7 on another computer (both IE8 and IE7 are on vista machines).

Honestly, this is completely wacky. Anyone have any idea of what to look at? Settings in IE8 don't seem to make a difference, but I might have missed something.

Results show. Just no ads in ie8

It just might be a setting but I'm not sure which one. You might want to put the browser into all default settings, except your home page and whether or not to delete temporary internet files when you close it, then give it whirl.

I've never had a problem with any browser that I have (ie8, Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Safari). I use ie8 almost exclusively at home and ie7 at work (no choice). I never could find any reason to love Firefox enough to use it on a regular basis, it just doesn't have enough features/flexibility for me.

Could be a simple default security setting in IE8.

Check to see if IE8 has "active scripting" enabled by default for Internet Zone sites. If so then a site must be in Trusted Sites for JavaScript to run.

We've had this problem before:
