It just means what it says. They have all kinds of internal procedures to check for click fraud that they do for the AdWords advertisers, and given the ginormous size of the entire enterprise, it's not always done instantaneously as soon as the clicks show up on your earnings page. So it's an estimation until it finalizes, which is as it's always has been. I frequently have downward adjusted earnings after month end up to about a buck or so*, just as on the AdWords side, I always have adjustments every month for invalid clicks as well.Nothing has changed, except the language on the page.
Yup, nothing new or to see here folks - move along.
There is more to transparency than ones choice of words. In American culture, most folks recognize this as a play on words, so the change is meaningless.
In other cultures one's choice of words is viewed as absolute - like in the UK. So this word change is an improvement within their culture as it reflects observation and is more accurate.
Not at all. I gave my opinion. That is allowed in a forum, yes ?
I can agree, disagree, or be neutral.
I couldn't care less what it says on there. It could be in Urdu for all I care.
Just try not to see things that are not there just because is says "estimated".
Well right, but giving opinions without pressure to do so means you care a little...by the definition of care.

Sheesh... I don't give a damn what they call it. Nothing at the back end as altered. It has always been estimated. I don't frigging give a damn if they have dancing girls around it.
Some people here are hung up on the word "estimated".
I entered this thread to give my 2c. NOT to show how much I care (In your opinion) Or how much I don't care (In my opinion).
Let Google call it what they like. In whatever color they like and whatever fontn size they like. You cannot prove otherwise if your earnings are what they are anyway.
2 days ago my "Today's estimated earnings" were roughly 3 times higher than what I had actually earned. It was an interesting figure, especially since I finished the day considerably under that number.
This morning my "Today's estimated earnings" are pegged exactly to what I've actually earned. Depressing but somewhat reassuring at the same time. Please don't tell me what I should be making. I've got enough complexes as it is.
Nice to see you back Farmboy.
