Well I guess it has been awhile, but when I signed up it was explicit that you must control and own the website you were putting the code on. I guess things have changed.

It won't be a problem, no. Google have no reason to ban you for getting more traffic. Assuming there is nothing fishy going on with this company you're working with.

Yeah I think the OP is just asking about the effect on adsense of getting much higher traffic - and $$$.

If adsense controls whether or not you can advertise your site, then your'e pretty much saying they are in control of your website, not you.

There are numerous threads here over a long period of time about negative results from buying traffic in what sound like similar situations.

Aside from that, a huge spike in clicks might well draw Googles attention to your site. That's not always (ever?) a good thing.

But mostly, looking at your first post, it looks like you have pretty decent numbers as far as earnings go for the amount of traffic you have now. I think you'd be far better off working to grow your traffic on a MUCH more incremental basis.

Look, you've been posting here for a while now. I assume you've been working on the site for a while too.

Do you really want to risk that work and your current earnings for a fast buck?

True... words, I sell an ebook with no adsense on the landing page I think I would be better served if I just sold the book instead....

If you do this: slowly ramp it up, not form 500 to 1000000 in one go: that's raise flags no matter what.

If you should do it: it all depends on the other site: how legit is it, how good is the traffic. Can your site withstand scrutiny by a Google employee, ...

If you as a visitor would feel tricked: Google would have a problem.

Also if you deplete the ad inventory in your niche the payout from Google might be far less (and the ads far more crappy).

Its all about traffic quality. If you can vouch for the quality of the traffic you're buying*, then by any and all means, go ahead. The visitor will be happy, your traffic provider will be happy, you will be happy, google will be happy and the advertiser will be happy. If the traffic is however crap, then neither google nor the advertiser will end up happy, costing you your account.

* note: exclude paid search here, you don't want to short-change middle-man Google. Don't do adwords->adsense arbitrage.

Another consideration is your server.

It seems such a massive jump. You want to ensure your server can cope. Otherwise you could pay for the traffic, but not be able to earn any money from it due to your website being down all the time.

Check following points:

1. How old is the site you are making deal with, who allows you placing banner.
a. Are they older then you (how many years is criteria)
b. Are they young then you (how many years is criteria)

2. Are you both in same niche ?
(A webhosting related site, places banner ad on some #*$!o website (which gets more traffic), this definetly might not be accepted. (I am unsure about TOS here)

3. Site which is placing your banner. How are they generating traffic ?

4. Any site in same niche, if generating, more traffic 10x times compared to your site, will technically cost more !
(thats our assumption, as we only followed white hat site to gain regular visitors to our portals)

Hey guys, just to verify I have decided not to do it using my adsense account but using a ebook that I already sell online.

That website also uses adsense bit with zero optimization. They are a newspaper website, specific to a country. However they generate at least 200,000 visitors per day. But herein is the problem:

The existing advertiser in the same niche / real estate as I am gets AT LEAST 30,000 visitors daily from the site.

Now the ad is pretty self explanatory, so the people that click on the ad won't be disappointed. (i.e. a DVD Ad going to an online book store)

My site is real estate based and so the ad is directed to that. What I dont want is for Google Team to be drawn to my site find some problem and boom!

You see I get about 10,000 visits monthly if that jumps to 900,000 monthly Google is sure to close my account!

I am staying away from it, I cant risk all the hard work for a short stint!

30,000 legit daily visitors from legit source would cost a small fortune. You should check how is this traffic generated and if it's coming from your site being showed in pop up or similar. Personally, I don't think Google would drop you out of program for legitimate traffic of any quantity
