stay cool.. adSense takes awhile to find the 'right' ads for the site. High paying ads are not placed right at the start. If and when your site converts for advertisers, you will see better paying ads reach your sites. It can take a while.

Also click prices do depend upon quality of traffic. Traffic from US / Europe seems to pay the most. Rest of the world can be in the sub 10 cent range. My 2 cents.

AdSense is not a way to get rich quick. Stay focussed for long term slow growth.

Google is very smart. If you have a great site with great content you are going to get more money. Why?

My take on it is the following:
If I have a great article about a payday loan and in this article I am convincing the user to get one. After they are done reading, they click on an ad and it converts into a sale for the advertiser. I am going to get a huge "reward" for these converting clicks because everyone wins(except the poor soul who needs a payday loan).

If I have a crappy article and none of the clicks turn into leads, there is no reward for me.

about the content don't worry i write a unique good articles about my profession, i am a dentist and write about dentistry i just answer the q. of may clinic patient on a web site.
may be i will stop looking at the adsense reports for a while.
you know what is the problem, it is like an addiction. i AM a dentist i have no problem in making money even in a underdeveloped country like mine, but even the quarter i get from adsense is very tasty. it is like money that come from gambling but with less risk you can only loose time.
