If i am just posting a thread on a forum like this can i add Adsense? or must i own the forums in order to post Adsense

In a word, no, you must be the owner of the forum to post the AdSense Code.

But there are a number of "revenue sharing forums" out there which will show your AdSense code if you have it. (You must first have a website (or Blog) before you can apply for an AdSense account though.)
