How Long To See New AdSense Ads?

I've done this many times, placing new AdSense ads on my sites. I removed the AdSense ads from my site for one day to do an experiment.

Tonight I added the ads back on (changed link color) and it's been an hour and a half and the blank space is showing up, but not the ads yet.

This is longer than normal. Ads are showing up fine on all my other sites.

What is the longest it has taken for your ads to show up on your site?

I've never seen it take any longer than it takes to tab over to another window and load the page. Maybe there's something wrong with your ad code.

Wolflover,
I take it you are using the new code and not the old.

With the new code, I used to add it offline and open the page for a while. Refreshing occasionally until it showed up. The longest I waited was about 20 minutes.

I have since reverted back to the old style code, and adverts are instant.

10 minutes was the longest I ever had to wait. It's actually been a lot sooner of late. Completely re did all the ads in the last month, and they were up almost instantly.

I found out what the problem was. I really don't understand why, but my ecommerce provider (that I have been with for years and have several stores with), suddenly was adding CDATA to the beginning and end of my AdSense code.

I asked them WHY it was doing this when this has never happened before and they told me to HIDE the editor and then put the code in. I have NO clue why, but doing that worked. Very strange to say the least.

Some of those add-in HTML editors are really brain dead.
