Hi all
This has been pissing me off since my rebuild. If I open a page locally with IE then any advert is PSA, but not when live. This never happened before and has only happened since a rebuild.

The PC is clean of any malware/viri/trojans/rootkits etc. Even does it with firewall turned off. Adverts are shown if I use Firefox, but I need it to work in IE

Any suggestions please. I've gone through "internet options" and cannot see anything else to change. I've tried so many variations and nothing works. Aghhhh.

Can the Google Mediabot crawl your web on your local PC?

Probably not, therefore the PSAs.

It could also not show anything if you have specified the allowed sites option in AdSense.

incrediBILL, i've always been able to see correct adverts via the local PC. Sometimes they are more related than when they are on the site :)

But I have had to rebuild the PC twice, and both times it refuses to show related adverts, only PSA's.

It's damned annoying because I am having to unload dummy pages to see if everything is okay in the way of layout, colors etc.

AFAIK I haven't blocked google mediabot, and it's pretty much a default install of XP at present.

Nothing in the host file that I can see.

Puzzling to say the least.

Is it related to a NAT-assigned IP Address? Or do you have a public IP?

I had to google what a NAT assigned IP address is LOL
I don't even know how to check - still reading about NAT ATM.
I've no idea, but I do not think that is the problem because, it shows adverts with firefox.

...it shows adverts with firefox.

You're probably right; it's not the IP address...

It works offline with FireFox and Chrome.

If two blocks of adverts are on a page, IE will show one PSA advert, and a blank space where the other should be.

These are my IE settings and adverts refuse to show up.
