Anyone Using Revenue Sharing

I'd love a quick precis

I was interested in looking into the possibility of sharing some AdSense revenue with a third party, and I vaguely remembered some sort of Google Revenue Sharing that I think was designed for splitting income between site owners and content producers. But when I looked it up, It seems to be some sort of an API system.

Is anyone using this, or is there another program that will do as I'd like? could someone give a quick summary of such a program and what would be involved?

I'd also like to know how this works, and how well. What are the major pitfalls to look out for?

A large forum on which I participate had this set up for years, and then suddenly took it off. I don't know if it was because they felt they couldn't 100% control the user content, or because the traffic was considered to be low quality and they were smart priced heavily.

Those would be the things I'd be worried about myself.

I use it on a couple sites, but it isn't open to all users, only "trusted users". In other words, those who consistently produce good content and help with moderation. I have yet to see anything that would convince me to drop revenue sharing.

I don't know him, but someone who does did ask, and he declined to comment.
