AdSense, Blogger or CSS issue?

Hi guys! I've been reading this forum for a long time and alas, I am having a problem and it seems no one on the Google boards can help me with this and the Blogger forum seems pretty ignored, so I thought I'd post it here and ask the *real* x-purts.

I have two blogs. The first one below has an ad unit that appears at the bottom, an ad unit that appears on the right in the column, and a link unit after each of the first three posts. Works *perfectly.* Life is good, right? Eeewrong.

My newer blog has an ad unit at the bottom and one in the right column, they work just fine. I have it *formatted* to show link units after each of the first three posts, but nothing I do makes 'em show up. Not deleting the ad units, not copying the link unit code from the first blog to the new blog, not changing the size of the columns, not deleting and re-adding, not making sacrifices to the Blog God. It's just broken.

I don't know if this is an AdSense issue, a Blogger issue, or a CSS issue. And I have to admit I'm very old school, and while I was writing HTML training manuals at one point in my life, I am absolutely useless when it comes to CSS and this old dog's brain hurts when it's forced to learn new tricks. Can anyone please help me out here? I just don't know what else to try.

You guys are so bursting my bubble! Is there really no one here who can help me with this? I was so sure one of you guys would look at this and know immediately what was wrong. Not even a clue? Am I to be AdSenseless for all eternity?

Ditto...and when I did it had an incredibly low CTR, I don't know if it was me or some other issue.

Hmmm. I'm not writing my blogs for the purpose of making AdSense bucks, it's more of a fun thing for me, so nickles and dimes are just bonus. I reserve the "real" moneymaking, AdSense and otherwise, for my boutique website. I would like to see AdSense working on Blogger like it's supposed to tho, and at this point it's become a mission to figure this out as it's making me friggin' nuts. Increasing my "nuts factor" is never a good thing. Nope. So not.

I just realized my URLs were edited out. I apologize if I wasn't supposed to include them, but now I am confused as to how anyone can help me if they can't see the code. Am I supposed to do this some other way?

There are no urls allowed on WebmasterWorld. Otherwise it gets out of hand fast, with people trying to promote and then spam the forums. So you won't be able to get specific help, no, but possibly someone familiar with Blogger can help you in a general sense.

Ah. Well, I guess I'm stuck. Is crying allowed in WebmasterWorld? :/

have a look at the source code and see if the code for the ads is there, first of all.

I have done everything I could think of that seemed the thing to try, please see the first post. I can find no obvious reason it's not showing, code is definitely there. I suspect it may be some other CSS issue, but I am totally lost when it comes to CSS. I still write the HTML for my 10-year-old-site-of-too-many-pages in a text editor, just as I've always done. I'm an artist and I create everything I sell so my time is tremendously limited, much as I'd love to learn CSS. Just implementing AdSense on my "real" site and learning all the ins and outs has been a tremendous time hog, but I think I'm getting the hang of it, and since I'm in the process of streamlining the site design it helps to justify the time it takes to tweak the ads. It seems to be paying off, in any case.

I've changed my profile to temporarily show my email address in case someone is willing to help me out (yup, I'm *that* desperate). I would *so* appreciate it. And thanks to everyone who has been kind enough to stick their head in.

Hi there. I think there is a link unit on the side bar and 3 links units will not show up between the posts.

There is no link unit in the sidebar, only an ad unit and the identical setup works just fine on my first blog. That is what is so perplexing. I did try removing the ad units, to no avail.

Have you tried removing ALL ads completely, and then adding things in one at a time, checking to see if they work, and then adding another?

I took a quick look, but unfortunately I just don't have time to take it apart to find exactly where it's going wrong. As I said, I haven't really done anything with Blogger in a long time.

(you also might try on twitter, if you're active there. you can find *anything* on twitter these days. if you find me there (netmeg) I'll pass it along to my tweeps, maybe one of them will know.)
