I guess we tend to naturally gravitate towards text ads (at least I do), but has anyone seen link ads outperform their counterpart on certain sites? I'm sure there are some out there ;)

Not on my site as a whole, but I had the interesting experience on my home page (the most visited page on my site) that regular adblocks just didn't work there, but a simple vertical adlink block has done extremely well. Consistently higher CTR than elsewhere on the site, and similar EPC.
