Just Anaylized March Revenue - did something change on March 15th

March revenue per click question

Revenue per click peaked on March 15th started dropping daily and ended 40% lower on March 31.
Spent a lot of time this month tweaking the ad placements.
Increased the clicks but the revenue per click as dropped for the last several days.
Clicks......Revenue.......Rev per Click avg
2387........ $389.13..... 0.163020528...First half of March
3384........ $455.67..... 0.134654255...Last half of March
42%.........17%........ ..... -17%......diff

Did I waste my time trying to improve the quality or is it the end of the Quarter blues.

Anyone else notice a drop in Revenue per click?

Come to think of it that is about the time I opted in to the Targeted ads feature. HAving just read the thread on the privacy update, I wonder if that had anything to do with the drop in Rev per click?

I'm having like 1% more clicks but my revenue increased. I opted out the targeted ads feature (perhaps not even related, but those are my numbers).

Liekwise, my revenue went up for the last half of the month as did the clicks. But the revenue per click went way down and that is what has me concerned.

It was in February and early March that, in the U.S., the Federal Trade Commission warned that Internet ads promising free government grants to consumers were promoting scams. The feds took special exception to the widely-seen ads featuring photos of President Obama -- and warned Web site operators and ad networks that they could face prosecution if the ads continued.

The ads disappeared from most major ad networks in March and it would not be surprising if earnings were affected, as there was a great deal of competition among the promoters of these pathetic schemes.

Those stupid weight loss ads went away as well around the middle of the month. I believe that they are or will be shortly facing FTC charges. Either way, those ads went down fast, which is good ethically b/c they broke a half a dozen AdWords rules and general truth in advertising laws as well.

Bad finicially, because, well, people clicked on them and they seemed willing to pay any price to get displayed.

Never the less, I opted out of the Targeted Ads and the first day of April the rev per click is a whopping 10.5 cents. Jan was .21 with 2484 clicks and I got the March Clicks up to 5771 and March ended at .15 per click.
Need some stimulus........

For me it was a 30% drop in rpc starting March 19th. I've now recovered most of it, but it's still down about 10%.
