Anybody in the weight loss industry seeing a change?

I'm an Adsense publisher in the weight loss industry who has seen some changes, for the worse, the past week. Anybody else here in the weight loss industry who has seen the same? (My traffic is hopping because it's January, so it's not a traffic problem. More traffic, but 30% less revenue...)

It *seems* (I say "seems" because I heard this second-hand) that there was a ban on certain advertisers in the weight loss industry by Adwords. Some of these advertisers deserved it (I'm guessing it's those acaiberry ads! I could be wrong...), but it seems Adwords threw the baby out with the bathwater because at least one well known marketer found himself on the outs (but got reinstated).

I thought at first that the downturn was due to the economy, but when I heard about this supposed ban, I checked the ads on my site and, sure enough, lots of regular advertisers do appear to be gone.

Anyone else experiencing this or heard anything about this?

My diet site doesn't really have enough traffic yet to give a useful answer. I hope that you are experiencing a temporary situation...

Yep. One of my sites got banned. No relation to acai people, but still they refuse to reinstate it. I know a couple of other people who got hit as well.

But is your account still active for your other sites?

But is your account still active for your other sites?

I use many accounts under the same MCC to split up the billing between projects. So generally one site per account. All other accounts in that MCC are fine.

After that, as a test I set up an affiliate "direct to merchant" thing in a different account, linking directly to a site selling some diet solution, and it got banned too.

As far as I know, that merchant is a reputable company in this niche.

I have a diabetic recipe site, and if anything, it has seen slightly more traffic and had a steady volume of revenue.
