how much you earn for every 100,000 PV?

As an amateur adsense user, I've just checked how much i earned so far from adsense and the result is pretty disappointing. I got $20 for every 100,000 PV only for my forum-like website (possibly too many diversified contents which are no good for advertisers who prefer niche content) , i.e. 0.0002 for every ad shown and CTR is far below 1%.

I'm not sure if my ads were placed in a wrong place. I put them in the "popular area" according to google's guidelines and others' websites.

How about your performance? Is my CTR too low for a forum-like website?

forums are supposed to be pretty difficult to earn off, unless you get paid by the number of impressions (then it's easy).
the people who visit your forum day-to-day already know where the ads are and ignore them.
you might try only showing the ads for guests -- which can double up as an incentive for more people to register.

i had a problem with my blog serving unrelated ads. i had to fiddle with the template to get every page showing its own title tag, descriptions and <h1> tag, based on the content of the discussion. then the ads got better. if all those things are still showing their generic stuff on your board, then its going to be difficult to get decent ads.

$20 for every 100,000 page views is an eCPM of $20/100000*1000 = $0.20

I agree that this is not good. Even with the recent eCPM disaster (we're now running at about 50% eCPM compared to last year) we are still waaaay ahead of you.

Forums are very difficult to monetize - lots of repeat users who are not in a shopping mood. (Who IS in a shopping mood these days?)

I do not have 100000 pv but my eCMP is .36 for 20000 pageviews for 4 domains; but I've already moved to aff marketing. Adsense is only works as fallback. I hope rest of you doing good.

Well as the previous poster pointed out, it's confidential.

The figures being bandied about for eCpm are about in the area of my now pathetic EPC. Should that be raised by a factor of 10?

But the last 12 months have been a disaapointing trend, PV's up, CTR dramatically down and EPC slashed.

Maybe back to Amazon for my prime real easte?
