I hope this is on-topic enough for this forum.

For those of you who run a website, primarily adsense and you have no employees, very few clients and your primary business is a website with content and your income is from online ads....

What do you use for accounting software to operate your business? Obviously since many people here are running websites as a second source of income you need something very simple but better than an excel doc ;)

QuickBooks. My company is more complicated than what you describe, but I would probably still use it (although perhaps a lower level version).

We use Quickbooks and hate it. It doesn't have some of the most basic features like being able to designate the monthly Google AdSense payment as a direct deposit.

We use it for the employee payroll features, but come on, how long has direct deposit payments been occurring? You would think that Intuit would be a little more up to date with online businesses.

I developt 1994 my own software for this.
It's a very universal data base system, where one of the tasks is accounting.

I use an Excel spreadsheet with 5 columns:
Date, Details, Debit, Credit, Balance

I bought Simply Accounting and QuickBooks and they were both overkill for my purposes. I basically pay my hosting & domain fees and cash the checks. Can you tell I have no employees or real clients?

lol, I'm with greatstart on this one.

I use a ledger book, in which I enter the information with my
"Model 2.0 Personal Portable Pocket Word Proccessor With Rubber Delete Function" aka a no.2 pencil.
