Guyz,

This is in respect to Indian websites running adsense.
we are an old fedex club member.

we were getting as high as $2.2 per eCPM in 2006/2007 and as of today it has come down to $0.5.
As a result my earnings have come down to 60 - 70%.

Is this the general case with all the indian websites ?

Note : I am not talking about small adsense publishers. I am working for a corporate house and our site was earning more than $1000 per DAY in 2006/2007.

Hardly..

It is not a country specific problem. Although it may be specific to your niche ( given the problems on the financial side of the worldwide economy or problem with the nature of your visitors..)

If you do a search on the forum, you will fnd multiple threads with this declining eCPM problem.. You will be hard pressed to find a pattern..

But.. Just wanted to get the eCPM no.s from different users in india.

Am curious if the eCPM rates that I get are in par with others ?

eCPM varies with qty. of traffic and nature of traffic also.. I have total earnings lower than you, but double digit eCPM.. Holding steady..

I think Google has been more aggressive in the past years into lowering the revenues of web sites it thinks/knows are not performing as well as others. How do they know? That's the big mystery, hence the frustration of many webmasters. Add more preventive measures like linking only the title of an ad, giving more finetuning tools to advertisers, detecting blogs and forums, etc, and the dream performance of a few years ago will not be possible anymore for certain type of sites or topics.
