Does anyone here use such a program/script/whatever?

I assume it is within the T&Cs so long as the code is used intact?

Have you had any problems with it?

What type of code have you used successfully?

I understand that most ad serving software can take care of this. Openx (formerly openads, and even more formerly phpadsnew will do it), and you can even use Google ad manager for the job.

I'm guessing today didn't go well for you either. I've been working abroad recently so not much chance to contribute to your recent threads, but go for it - only way to find out if direct advertising works better for you is to try it.

Been thinking of it myself for some time now. Thought Adsense would at least keep going strong for a few more years, but it seems like it's going on a slow death decline for me personally. I don't understand how I can earn top dollar one day, then 20% of that the next day, given that traffic is stable and still targetted and no changes have been made to the site(s).

I do it on most of my sites, with a little php script. I use it for rotating different color adsense ads, and/or affiliate ads. Never had any problems, and it's entirely within TOS as far as I know.

Now I'm getting enough ads and it's getting to be enough of a pain that I need to write something that will just rotate all the files in a directory, with each file being the code for a different ad or adsense block. So that all I have to do is add a new file to the directory to put the ad in rotation, or delete it to take it out.

Took me a long time to finally get around to using OpenX but I set it up and it integrates with Drupal for me. I like it but I'm not making a lot off Adsense yet (also a good reason for me to rotate ads I guess).

I asked Google and they said it's OK to do so. I was rotating AdSense with house campaigns using OpenX (actually I think at the time I was using phpAdsNew). But, yes it's OK.

Ah good, that's precisely my trial intention.
