Saturday - Don't ask me why however on one of my sites today and only the index page, my leaderboard is displaying perfectly targetted ads...in German!

The AdLinks are showing perfectly targetted ads in English.

The entire site is in English, there are no German language references anywhere and all the other 80'ish pages are showing perfectly targetted English language ads.

Go figure!

Are you using a web proxy based in Germany? Or maybe you have a cookie set that tells adsense that you are German. I got this once when I used a proxy and the ads started showing
up in Chinese! ... and then continued to show up that way after I stopped using the proxy.

Switch browser to test, then clear cookies and cache, and say 10 Hail Mary's. Can't hurt.

Nope, UK servers, always have been for 15+ years.

Nope, fortunately the problem cleared up later that day therefore I can't even begin to guess why it should start displaying perfectly targetted German ads for a few hours. I know a few here have had non-targetted ads but this is a new twist for me.

I think I'll build a site in English on a .de, put it on a German server and see what happens...lol

Several of my subpages have done this in the past, it usually clears up within a few days.

Maybe google has determined that your online work pattern is German in style so is showing you ads along those lines:)

Hmmm...I know that's meant tongue-in-cheek HOWEVER could there be sliver of truth in your comment?

Consider this, the actual domain is a .eu, there's nothing special about that, however my widget trade worldwide principally works in English and this site does get a majority of German>European>least UK visitors and allied to the fact that I have been trade business working with Germany for 30+ years, my phraseologies, even though in English, may possibly be possibly German stilted.

Google knows from where the visitors are coming therefore it could make sense that if they saw a lot of X country visitors going to a predominantly "other language" site that they could serve up ads suited to that audience.

Or is this too silly to be considered since the ads are showing in English again?
