This is one of my worst days in a while. I wonder if there is a click dump in the near future.

It was doing well this morning, but just stopped. I wonder if stats are delayed.

After two better than average days Friday and Saturday, I'm tanking yesterday and today too. I put it down to the end of the month advertisers out of money syndrome...

Don't judge a day's performance when that day is still today, hal12b. There's just no point. Check again tomorrow.

I put it down to the end of the month advertisers out of money syndrome...

Without appearing too stupid, what kind of business runs their Google advertising with monthly budgets rather than well-timed daily ones?

Insofar as I know all my trade widget advertisers limit their daily expenditure balanced against their analysis of their incoming enquiries converting into confirmed orders.

Please note that my widgets are not a postal item by a long way! After an initial enquiry orders can take up to 3-4 months to produce and supply.

Or am I missing something about how other companies do things or do they just let the kiddies in their ad departments run riot with no overall control?

The last couple days was worst. It's funny that my September monthly earning turn out exactly the same as August's.

its been a great month for me, esp the last two weeks. Today has been brilliant and I hope it stays that way. [USA site, USA market]

Nothing's moved for me for more than 4 hours. Anybody else seeing that?

I blame it on Sarah Palin. People are watching the video of her having nothing to say about the Supreme Court instead of surfing.

Boy, I'll be glad when the election is over and these distractions are gone!

Well as of 11:29 I am back to normal and a little above average. It just goes to show you that you never know until the end of the day. I just panic when I see low stats. I start to think my rankings suddenly dropped in the search engines, or something else bizarre occurred. Good luck to everybody else and let's welcome October and make it a great month!

dammit Husky... this is a gripe thread. You're supposed to gripe and wallow in self-pity... ;)

Or am I missing something about how other companies do things or do they just let the kiddies in their ad departments run riot with no overall control?

that's what we hope for as publishers aint it?
new gungho ad managers who forget where to put the decimal point so WE get those nice, tasty $8.92 clicks...

dammit again lamewolf... this is a gripe thread! Go play with Husky in some other gloat thread. ;)

I start to think my rankings suddenly dropped in the search engines, or something else bizarre occurred.

Well I HAVE noticed that since dropping to page #2 for one of my main key phrase due to stiff competition, my eCPM has also gone down. Don't know if this is a major factor or it's in tandem with the slowdown some of us are experiencing.

Fwiw, a major Jewish holiday (Rosh Hashanah) started at sundown yesterday and ended, I think, sundown today.

I'm down about 40% of average today.
I wonder if that tells me
- my visitors are mainly Jewish
- my visitors have got their eyes stuck on the stock market instead of my website
- that ad manager wised-up and corrected his decimal point and now every click is paying 8.9 cents.

crap.

Reasonable for me. Got more back from a standard high-interest savings account and GASP! actually working!

I agree with hal12b - our adsense impressions and clicks are off 60% compared to yesterday, but our traffic patterns didn't change.

I'm hoping it's a delay in reporting and it will be corrected soon...
