The AdSense rollercoaster ride

Things have been a bit down over the last few months. I had one really good day last month and for the last week or so one of my pages which normally has high traffic and appropriate ads (therefore quite good in terms of CTR) has been rubbish. The traffic has been the same but the ads are way off. Oh, incidentally I cleared my filter list recently - didn't make any difference and I haven't seen too many unacceptable ads recently anyway. I keep putting up new content as usual but I've also got an eye on the jobs section on the local newspaper as well - things can't continue as they are.

Today however, doubled CTR and double the money too, but I've no idea where it's coming from because it's on a page I'm not tracking (200 URL's not enough). Was it a number of pages published recently or something topical in the news maybe? Who knows. Could be a turn around but I wont get my hopes up just yet. I'll just smile, carry on and just accept it for what it is - pretty much like the fluctuating exchange rates.

What are you riding today - the Big Dipper or the monorail?

mOthman... have you checked whether you're getting traffic from Yahoo!?

They did an update end of August. I didn't pay much attention because Yahoo! had sent my site to the backside of their serps for almost 2 years due to a technical issue which their support did not want to help with. Anyway, they finally got it sorted and I bounced back with nice targetted traffic.

I never thought I'd say it but... Thank God for Yahoo!.

If is weren't for this traffic, I'd be in that submarine with potteryCenter.

Hi, PotteryCentre! Isn't it nice here, in the submarine? Yeah, sure, a bit of daylight now and then would be nice. But Capt. Goog doesn't want us to see the daylight, right, and we have to follow his orders. Ah, by the way - I'm looking for andrewshim. Have you seen him lately? Anyway, I really look forward for our day in Blackpool. Do you remember the rollercoaster rides? Whew - up and down, and up and down - those were the days...!

Had a look at the Yahoo stats but alas no spike from them. Actually, it's settling out again now so it looks like I'm heading for the drop now.

Blackpool - Seaside town on the west coast of England, lots of fun rollercoasters and even has its own version of the eiffel tower ;-)

Lucky for you, I assume now you are on nice cruise sail enjoying warm sunlight. What a nice day.

Hi Zett... Yeahh, it's quite nice down here, no worry to look after your garden. But, the food is quite boring.
And, my captain is keep testing the submarine to go deeper to see how far it can go. ;)

more like a rubber dinghy being tossed by the waves nevertheless and surrounded by sharks. Just don't know when the dinghy might burst and you might hear me knocking on your submarine door.... (what's a submarine door called again?)
